Although I’m not a Mustang fan, I definitely agree with you on that. This is the last generation of the 5.0 Coyote that sounded like a true muscle V8. After that Gen, they sound too raspy as you mentioned.

@@310Cowboys In my personal opinion, the 5 best sounding modern V8s ever made is the 2008-2014 Lexus ISF, the 2008-2012 C63 AMG, the 2nd gen CTS-V, the 2008-2012 BMW M3, and the C6 Corvette ZO6.

Sounds beautiful, more of a fan of very loud and raspy. Best setup is BBK LT headers, BBK off road X with res deletes and roush axle-backs. Only other one is texas speed and Kooks, they are awesome too.

As a 5.0 owner shorties are a waste as the stock Manis are essentially shorties from the factory either cat delete or long tube are best bet

Sometimes it may be worth it for the sound, the different lengths to the collector from the ports and different merge positions make all the difference in exhaust sound.

Kooks super Street shorty headers with a offroad midpipe picked up around 20-30 hp. Test was done years ago. Their 1 7/8 inch.Not bad but for max na power (and sound) longtubes are better

From a performance standpoint, "shorty" headers offer little if any difference to standard factory manifolds.

Gen 1 coyote headers are in 2 pieces, manifolds don’t really need to be changed but the “mid pipe” which he called “down pipes” are where the power is. Cutting the cats is what does the trick for power on these.
