Eco mode is good when in traffic where car runs idle whole the time it actually helps save at idling fuel. It burns a minimal ammount only to keep engine running. Outsids on open roads no need for Eco mode. I run my Civic Tourer 1.8i at 6-6.5 liters without Eco

I've got the exact same car but the 1.4 I-Vtec. I love the overall design of it and the fuel efficiency as well. The interior quality is impressive and the dashboard aged so well despite being a 2012 model. I have people starring at my dash sometimes and it's 2022! You will fall in love with it during turns. It feels so well made and sturdy while driving on any speed but... that has it's downsides, more on that below. Only cons for me are: Start-up is always ON and has to be pressed to go OFF (see the host doing it when he's ready to go) Slow revs. Hard to pass other cars on countryside roads, because the I-Vtec always kicks in about 80kmh to 100 kmh. Until then, it's running on low profile mode meaning fuel economy and you're pretty much stuck behind trucks. ECON: Useless crap, that has to be always OFF. When it's ON... the car basically "downgrades" the revs of the engine making it EVEN MORE slower on low gears, NOT GOOD. Overall it's a very enjoyable and reliable car.

Vtec only kicks in after 3500rpm. On lower revs it does not change the intake valves. 1.4 vtec is reliable same as Toyota older 1.4vvti. My wife has older model Auris 1.4vvti for the last 13 years the car runs fine no issues. 1.8Vtec Tourer is coming soon to our garage. If there are cars that can bring you from point A to point B regardless if 2000km or only 2km those are Honda and Toyota naturaly aspirated petrol engines. They are built to last in compare to crap they make today with turbo chargers and lots of other thing to brake. Never had any issue with Japanese cars...but now I own Passat B8 and I am glad to give away this crap car as the parts are expensive as labor to fix those.

Hello, the engine has enough power, the chassis is comfortable and precise. I think that the car is great for occasional sports driving. More about this car in the test on the website: www.driveblog.cz
