2012 Hyundai Elantra has no brake lights. Fuse pop

The stop lamp fuse I'm remembering was a 15 amp fuse in the Engine room fuse block. I believe it's marked "stop lamp". The stop lamp relay on my 2012 was under the dash top left. It was tucked up there pretty hidden. 5 pin connector gray in color. The relay was bolted on. If you caught it in time you may get lucky and only need to replace the fuse. Good luck.

ALL 3 BRAKE LIGHTS OUT. I changed the fuses and brake switch thinking "there's no way all 3 blew at once." Sure enough, after all that, changing the 3 bulbs fixed it. Must've had some kind of short that blew them all at once. Hope this also helps someone!

I just had my battery replaced at auto zone, I had to go back the next day because my car wasn't starting or I was driving home and my radio completely shut off no power, my check engine light went on..turns out they left this box thing around the post loose. After that was tightened it fixed everything. But now I noticed my brights aren't working, checked my break lights, they are out too! Is it possible they blew a fuse? I guess that's what I'm gonna check first. Hopefully that will fix it.

All my brake lights are out. My mechanic said it's a stop light module. Is that the same as the harness?

Same problem here for 2012 Elantra Limited, all 3 brake lights are off not working, however, the side bulbs are not burned and are on, but will not switch to brake lights while braking. Fuses are ok, brake light switch is ok too, and my cruise control works.

@@DeeluxyLife Honestly I fix it on my own not trusting what Hyundai or other mechanics said. I troubleshooted by Replacing first the brake light bulb the middle by the back window since it was burned out and tested it when I hit the brakes does it light it was good, then I replaced both tail brake lights and tested them and I was good and I am still good. I have a 2013 Elantra. I have had the recall done with the pad for the brake light switch, I just bought a new brake light switch. I can hear a click when I depress the switch when I have the keys in the car and it on, but the lights do not come on at all. I’m trying to see exactly where the issue was in this car so I can look in mine. Anyone have any luck? I swear I will never buy another Hyundai again. We had a 2012 Santa Fe I just traded in because the locks weren’t working and were grounding our killing the battery, and literally 2 months later I’m having this issue with my Elantra.

My turn signals work, I have replaced my brake light bulbs at least twice in the last 5 years (not the center) but the center is out as well. I also seem to burn through headlights quickly so I switched to LED. I really don’t have the time to be without a car any longer than the time it’s been down and I’m worried the dealership will just rip me off. I was a mechanic in the navy, I know a little bit (it’s been awhile) if you can help lead me in the right direction that would be great.

Thw third brake light gets power from same circuit as left and right. Most likely bulbs. Possible wiring problem in trunk area. My money is on bulbs . You can check power and ground at sockets and see what's missing. Good luck.

I have a 2011 hyundai elantra limited. Same problem, sealed tail lights filled with water causing a short. I'm searching for the relay and fuse. I'm not seeing it clearly like my older model vehicles. How are they labeled in the fuse box? Thank you!

I’m having issues with my Hyundai same car in the video it’s a 2014 . The spoiler light wasn’t working. I replaced it with a new one and after replacing it it didn’t turn on but at the same time now the break light won’t turn on at all. I check most of the fuses and still no luck . Do you have any idea what could be the problem? Please please help.

lil mental it could be a number of things. It's safe to say it's not a fuse. Find someone who knows how to use a test light or voltmeter. The bulb needs around 12 volts and ground. Find out what's missing and go from there. Start at the socket. If you really want to get into learning about 12v DC electrical systems, a power probe 3 is a great start. It costs around a hundred bucks. That's less than what it costs for 1 hour labor at most shops.

Stop lamp relay. you should start with checking that fuse. Don't use a fuse higher than what is shown should be there. In this case, 15 amp. If the fuse blows right away when you step on the brake pedal, you have a short to ground on the load side of that relay. You may want to take it in to a shop at that point. If you really want to dig in to the problem yourself, start looking for videos on how to test for a short. Good luck

In that box there should be a 15 amp fuse (blue) in the "stop lamp" fuse socket. The lid of the fuse box or the box itself should have the fuses labeled. I hope this helps you. By the way, if your vehicle has ISG and HAC, the fuses and wiring are different. If you have an owner's manual, it should help you find the box and the fuse. if you need further assistance please send the first ten digits of your VIN so I can look at the correct diagrams. Also, please let me know what your level of experience is in electrical diagnostics. that way i don't make it too technical or too long winded telling you things you already know.

Same here. I learned my lesson on 1986 Hyundai Excel. I will, however, gladly work on these cars because they are job security. $
