2012 Macbook Pro 13" A1278 Speakers Replacement

I found if you leave the three back antenna plugs in you can still do the right speaker repair and you don't have to fiddle with realigning the cables and also risk damaging the very thin antenna sockets. Just undo the screws connecting the speaker to the antenna assembly and lift up. Also if you're having trouble lifting your logic board chances are there is adhesive from a factory sticker that has leaked out. You'll need to get a thin spudger under there to try and carefully unstick the board from the back of the display. Use a torch to try and see where the adhesive is holding. Mine was stuck really severely.

thank you this helped me so much! I only replaced the easier half speaker under the DVD disc drive but it worked like a charm! speakers came back to life with the replacement. Thanks to this video! My advice? If you guys take your time, you will not break anything. Especially teasing apart connections.

I don't know if you'll see this comment since this video is from 8 years ago. At 10:10 (disconnecting the left speaker), I mistakenly took out the speaker plus the tiny "box" it is in; the the tiny "box" was pulled off the board. Did I ruin it? Does the tiny box need to be soldered back in a certain spot in order for the speaker to work? If it's unrepairable, I'll just use the right speaker.

You're a SERIOUS HERO !!! Súch a clear instruction video. I am enjoying MacSound again and finally !! Could not remove the thin part speaker because screw didn't want to budge, so I had to break the plastic holder attached to speaker. Then with pliers I managed to unscrew the screw Ended up with one screw over....dunno which on, but nothing is rattling !! ;-, Thanks again !!!! Any Tips and tricks regarding repairing mu port to external monitor. Seems this one is not working any more. Mac does not omit any signal for monitor to recognise it. (MacBook 15" 2012)

I have weird problem, after I installed the new speakers, the new subwoofer makes rattling noise when there's bass involved like it's torn but it's not, and the weird part is that I found out it makes that noise only when the bottom case/cover is closed, when I remove the cover the bass comes out better and no noise, but the second I put the cover and play something with bass, the noise comes back. I checked for any loose screws for the right speaker but everything is tight.. I have no idea what to do... Can you please help me?

sounds very complicated, why not just get a cheap external speaker, you can damage something making all those changes
