My 2012 Mazda 3 has the same wear on the steering wheel, other than that their interiors aren't similar cosmetically. Looks to me like the materials are from different planets. Wish I had the manual, but then the girlfriend can't borrow the car anymore, lol. Seems like the 2 could be a good miata alternative since those are so expensive. If I get a chance I'll definitely give it a test drive.

You complain about the interior quality, but have you experienced this car's competition? I don't think it's fair unless it's worse then a Fiesta, Fit, and Yaris of the era. I'm considering getting a 2 as a first car, but they're no cheaper then a Mazda 3 or a Focus of similar age, and those cars are equal or better in every area except weight. The 2 doesn't even have much of an economy advantage, which is a bit disappointing.

Hey mate, really appreciate the feedback. I thought I did say in the video that the interior is typical for a car in the price range sorry if I didn’t make that clear. It’s true if you’re after the most practical vehicle for the price you’d probably be better off getting one of the slightly larger cars like a Focus. I didn’t make a comparison to those cars because they’re in a different segment and I didn’t think many people would be cross shopping them. I personally would take the 2 over the 3 because I think it’s a superior driving experience dynamically. However if that’s not a priority for you I think getting a larger car probably is a better choice as the difference in fuel economy will be minimal. Chris Cannons

@@OhCar_MagazineTotally get why you wouldn't mention the 3 or the Focus, definitely not competitors, just throwing them out there as alternatives. Driving dynamics is definitely a priority, I've never driven anything that's considered to be remotely good handling machine, so I want to know what it's like. With that said, I doubt the 3 gives up all that much to the 2 handling wise, they're both known for being the best handling car in their segments. I think I'd be happy with either of them or the Focus, though I'm leaning towards the larger cars for the previously mentioned reasons and the one below. My primary concern with the 2 is that it seems very unsafe in high speed rear impact collisions. Any rear seat passengers would almost certainly be killed or very badly injured if the car was hit at 80 km/h while stationary. I will likely be hauling family members around occasionally, and while I think it's very unlikely someone would hit me at that speed, it's never impossible.

That steering wheel looks pretty tired and worn out.
