hi Kevin ,,,thankyou fantastic video followed it and re-stepped your video,,,,,,,,,, ,,, Its been 25 year since my last pug clutch replacement .. and at 6PM to night i finished the clutch replacement On my 09 ,,,,,207 ,, l1400c ,petrol ,,All GR8 MATE ,,,,, the starter motor removal was a challenge but after moving drivers side drive shaft , ,,, There was loads of room by exhaust pipe " left hand up ,,,,,,right hand through the drivers side wheel arch,, ,,thanx bud , ,lol P.S ,,no bolts left over all homed safe,, I wouldn't want to lie about the time took me ,,, I was like you on the floor,, And it took me 12 and a half hours ,, Start to finish,,,,, Cheers Kevin albert Williams top guy,, Thanks once again,,, Kez Swansea South Wales, i would have never done it without your help mate

Thanks for your great videos. These are a mine of information for the DIY heads out there. What I love is there’s no rubbish chat and above now crap music. What I’d love to see are videos of how you recovered from bad situations like the infamous ball joint refusing to release with a drive shaft in the way (thanks PSA!). Kevin, if you ever have time to drop a video of actually putting the clutch on the 207 in place it would be excellent. I’m sure you want to keep in business maybe that’s not a great idea. Damn. Made it look easy! My mum's 207 hdi needs doing as it's only on 52k and worth keeping but I think I'll leave it until it warms up a bit.

Outstanding video. I fancy doing my 207 clutch now even though I dont have to....! :) how on earth do you keep track of all the nuts and bolts? It took me a day to strip down my engine and a week to put it back together with bits left over....

Tony Hammond a lot of the bolts once I take them out I slot them back on. And my only technique is I work in a pattern.

Tony Hammond you had bits left over? That’s worrying man. Can affect the safety of your car surely knowing there’s something that could be loose/unsecured. I’d get it inspected to make sure or get a mechanic to put the bits back on.

Thank you, I need to do this soon, I'm gonna change the fork, release bearing, sleeve and clutch plates.... My question is, are there any other parts needed or become damaged on removal? Like new hub nuts etc... Many thanks

Nicely done! Just done this job myself. Was watching the video to see if you had any problems with the lower arms (as mine were a pig, and bent with the tiniest pressure)

To say that the knuckles were stuck in the hub is an understatement... So ended up getting the ball splitter out, at which point, the boots were knackered. New arms going on in the morning :) 👍👍

Great video - why do you have to drain the 'box oil - do you cover Peterborough area?

The gearbox oil is drained from the plug because you'd lose a huge proportion of it as a result of popping the driveshafts out. Saves on mess and stress to do it ahead of time.

Great video pal. I just done mine but the rod came out of the slave cylinder while trying to put it back on. How do you bleed it? It has a yellow plastic bleed nipple with a wire clip but I don't want to break it.

Looks more difficult than taking the whole engine out...and i was contemplating whether i should or should not to try to replace some bearings in the gearbox since they tend to wear out at 250 thousand km...!!!!! 👹

Quick question mate, did you have to undo anything to remove the driver side driveshaft? Was there any nuts holding it in on the transmission?

No nuts. Only a C clip. It should just knock out.

Kevin-Albert Williams you see I’ve ordered a new drive shaft and there’s no c clip, I’ve been on various forums and they say it’s a bracket on the main bearing, i guess I’m gonna have to jack the car up and look for myself

Hello, While working on some suspension stuff my left driveshaft popped out and the oil from the gearbox leaked on the ground. Just like in the video, there is no fill plug, so I have to do it through the breather, thus I can't check the oil level. But I really don't want to drain all the oil because it's been replaced not that long ago. May be you know if the full level until the driveshaft level is less than 1 liter? From what I am seeing the level it should be it just above the driveshaft seal, but I am afraid that 1 liter might be not enough and I might damage something.

The level on them is until it drains out of the drive shaft transfer

makaveli motorsport Thanks mate. I use one of them weight lifting belt at all times. 6 years later back is still going strong. I always kneel on padded mats. Only issue is winter time. Fingers gets quite numb very quickly. I’ve got loads and loads of tools. 3 double snap on boxes. What I use mostly for clutch every day is a set of impact socket and extension bars with an impact UJ all in 1/2 drive. Trim tool. 1/2 drive normal ratchet. 1/2 drive short handle ratchet to spin off quickly any bolts in tight spaces. Set of metric spanner from 8mm-26mm. Lever bar. Hammer and chisel. Pin punch. A big bar for lower suspension arms. 3 tonne heavy weight jack. 8 axle stands. Syringe for pumping oil. A set of male torx. A set of female torx. A set of ribe torx. A set of spline bit and a set of screw drivers. Hope that helps.

I've just had the best fun with the lower arms on one of these doing exactly the same job. They both bent like butter when I went to free the knuckles. 🙄 Bloody french cars 🤣🙈 That's what I'll blame it on anyway 😉

As a Hgv mechanic myself, I admire your talent. I do not get to do many car clutches thank goodness. Would the gearbox on this one not come out completely? Did one on a citroen c5 2.0hdi a while ago and had to just pull the box to one side. It wasnt bad, I just prefer them completely out of the way. Great videos, I really enjoy them, huge talent, much respect to you.
