I just lucked up on a 39k mile 2012 Ram just to avoid DEF!

How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind?

@@OrganGrindersSwing I lucked up and found a 128k mile 2012 RAM 2500 back in June last year for about $29k. So I can imagine he paid a pretty damn good price for his!

That's why I bought another 2012

Lot of time and money wasted in this video. RAM now uses DEF to meet emissions.

I think the 2013-current Cummins has those DEF. I like the 4th Gen Cummins without or with DEF, not to delete it.

In this truck does it have the def tank in it and do u have to put def in the new 2013 truck?

It's simple. They bragged and boasted while they could but in the end the DEF exhaust system allows for better fuel economy. So when owners, like me, complained of HORRIBLE gas mileage all the time.. they went to this.
@SuperVorpalbunny6 жыл бұрын
Why would you get better fuel economy? As stated, the DEF is added after combustion, and after the particulate filter. Just curious.

@@ArthinuxWilliams I'm still waiting for the that answer in 2019.

@@alexanderrosales7675 -- Lean NOX trap and it's associated fuel maps = dismal fuel economy; it did however work well, and required no DEF. Honestly I'd take the economy hit anyway. Have you SEEN what all the excess ammonia tail pipe emissions is doing to roadside plant life?? Its killing everything, polluting the soil so bad that nothing will grow there now. But HEY!!! YOU'VE GOT A SMALLER CARBON FOOTPRINT....
