2012 US NATIONALS NATHAN CHEN JR MENS CHAMPION

On Tuesday 24th January, Nathan Chen won the Jr Men's title at the US Nationals, his third year in a row to win a national title. At only 12 years of age, he had the audience standing half wayk thru his program and recieved standing ovation at the end.

I happen to agree with you 100%. Nathan is an amazing talent, and best of all, he is such a nice boy. Friendly, shy, very focused, considerate of others and a very good attitude. I've been with him in a lot of situations and he is always the good little guy you might expect. Not at all arrogant as one might expect of a champion.

Those of you who really know Nathan know what a great kid he is. He's not "full of himself" like a lot of skaters. He is as humble as can be. Those of you who don't know him personally should realize that this quiet, very understated young man is exactly what a great champion is. Hard working (very), humble, never satisfied with his achievements and very aware of the sacrifices his family makes to keep him on the ice. He's my favorite skater and favorite person on planet earth.

Nathan is a real wunderkind! Olympic gold was his destiny from birth! I've truly never seen anyone like him in all my long life of watching figure skating and having been an amateur skater myself and knowing how very difficult this sport is to master! Yes, of course the jumps and spins are textbook wonderful but it's such a joy to watch someone who feels the music in every cell in his body and is able to interpret it brilliantly even at this young age.
