Thank you for the video! I really appreciate it. I have a 2012 Volvo XC90, that had the same P2402 code and also a P043E code. The auto parts store said it was a leaking gas cap. Everything looked good on the cap gasket so I replaced the evap pump with the exact one you mentioned below. There was a slight difference. Only 2 of the 3 screws were accessible. I had too first take out 2 bolts that held a housing that the pump was attached to(by the 3 screws). I cleared the codes and so far so good. Thanks again!

I believe it is a totally different story on my 2005 V70. It is towards the left and on top of the subframe. The charcoal canister gets in the way also. And the exhaust, and a heat shield... I didn't realize that yours is a P3 mine is P2.

Excellent video. Out of curiosity, how long did this take you? The local Volvo dealer says 5.5 hours--labor and parts $1,200!! Like many other viewers, I have the dreaded P2402 code. I reset the code and ran some fuel system cleaner to see if that would purge enough contaminants to keep the Check Engine Light from coming on. Unfortunately, it didn't work. My Volvo is the S60, but the process should be almost identical.

EVAP leaks/blockages may cause some studdering depending on the car and severity. In general its just a system that ensures your car is properly recycling gas fumes and controlling emissions. You can probably drive your car with no issues, but if you live in an area where emissions inspections are required you do need to take care of it.

I have a 2015 s 60 t5 4 cyl and my hoses are hard plastic molded with no clamps! How am I suppose to take those 2 hoses off the pump?
@mrjkldrhyd3 ай бұрын
thank you so much for posting this video. extremely helpful. but I had the plastic molded hose with the fitted clamps on my wife's 2013 XC60 R-Design AWD. had to uncrimp the fitted clamp using a long nose vise grip then pry with a screw driver to release the clamp. then had to make a 1/2 inch vertical cut with a utility knife blade to just enough to loosen the molded plastic so I could pull the hose off. did this for both hoses. very tight spot. the detection pump will fit through only a certain way out so no choice but to take the hoses off first. good luck. it took a couple of hours because I had to figure things out. if you're strong enough to cut the clamp with a long reach plier cutter, you could do this in 30-45 minutes.

Melches Garage. Thank you for the video. Im curious, my 2010 has a electronic sound when it's off at the rear. Is this part the issue in your experience? It's repeatedly making the noise every 5- 10 min. Kills the battery too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the Blind Ref it’s possible it’s related to this part but the only symptom I ever noticed was the check engine light being on. It’s my wife’s car and I don’t drive it much, so it’s possible it made some noise and she never noticed it.

Thank you for the timely response. So you recieved a code. I haven't. You Ever have battery issues? I noticed fuse 39 for that that parts schematic was not blown. It also made the sound with the fuse removed. Perhaps its th charcoal filter. There's a solenoid there. Your video will come in handy if that's the issue. I appreciate you. Wishing you and your family well. Thanks again
