Points of information having watched this event: Kim Jacobs/Ashley Priess sum up the problems with NCAA for me. Nice gymnasts, but even absolutely clean, they should not get near athletes like Williams, Worley, Sloan, King, Rodgers etc. and yet....they always get in the 9.9's. There is an absolutely clear line between top level girls and the 'nice gymnasts' but it's not reflected in the code. Worley needs to train smarter, Williams needs to tone up and King needs Sloan's self belief!

Priess and Jacobs throw plenty of difficulty on beam and bars and deserve their scores 100%. Jacob does a lot of difficulty on FX, too, and is very clean, so I really don't know what you're talking about.

These 4 teams all ended up competing in the Super 6 for the national title a few weeks after this. Yet I think all 4 of these teams competed stronger/better here at the SEC's than they did at Nationals. This was a great competition!

From a completely neutral standpoint (I'm Irish), the Florida team have by FAR the better team. Sloan, King, Hunter Caquatto and then DIckerson/Stageburg to get the fifth score. SLoan has brought such confidence to the team, she's full of attack and belief which is very impressive. I feel slightly disappointed with Marissa King since I know that she's worthy of tens on all events really, but there is just the slightest hint of self doubt in all her performances & no beam anymore:
