2013/14 Panini Rookie Anthology Hockey Hobby Box

This break brings back great memories. The last year I went ham on hockey was in 2013-14. I loved the double rookie class and products like Anthology, NT and Contenders. This product is a lot of fun with the multiple products represented, similar to Panini Chronicles or 2003 DLP. Thanks for the vid, good luck with your future breaks.

Awesome video man!!! Was hoping to see you pull a Kuch. Hopefully he shows up next time! I opened one of those a couple years ago. My hits were a Kevin Connaughton Jersey auto, a Linden Vey auto, Ryan Spooner jersey and Ryan Murphy jersey. Atrocious haha!! From what I've seen those 13/14 RA boxes are either fantastic or terrible. Prizm would be fun too!

Upper Deck sure has done something similar in the past but it was a while ago! Fultoncards opened one of those products on his channel recently! I like products that have a mix of the different sets! I gotta give this one a try someday (if I can locate it). I like Prizm and Select! I agree it does look weird with hockey since we're so used to seeing those sets associated with basketball and football. That Bobby Ryan story is crazy eh? Talk about seeing someone's childhood ripped away from right under him. I saw that TV special years ago but it was nice to see Sportsnet repost that recently on KZbin. Nice break as always. Hope you land that Kucherov card soon!

Those prism rookies are sick, I didn’t know they existed in hockey though 😳 I’m a huge NO Saints fan so I collect Micheal Thomas and I have his prism rookie, so I agree it was so weird to see the same cards with hockey players on them.

What does ‘true rookie’ mean?

henkestenke just a rookie card that is to his jersey number, so for Kucherov a “true rookie” would be numbered out of 86. I could be completely making all this stuff up but I think that’s how people usually refer to it 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

There’s two kinds of rookie cards, a true rookie and a rookie year insert. A true rookie is the main rookie from the product, and though a player can have multiple rookies in a set, only one of them is a “true rookie.” For example, a young guns is a “true rookie,” while a rookie portraits or a rookie materials is a rookie year insert. In the case for the titanium kucherov, titanium has two versions of the rookie. There is the “true rookie” which is numbered to the jersey number, and the draft parallel which is numbered to the draft position (in kucherov’s case, 58.) Hope this helped!
