This is a great video! I needed to replace the ballast for my left side headlight (HID equipped). Turns out that the ballast is mounted to the bottom of the headlight assembly, so to save time I removed the front left wheel and pulled the entire wheel well shroud off ( 5- 8mm bolts and 10 push in clips hold the shroud in place). The ballast is completely accessible, held to headlamp assembly with 3 torx screws (T20). This was way less work than having to remove bumper cover.

Just take your time and you wont have any issues. Its just part of having that smooth aerodynamic look to a vehicle. Everything has to be tucked in behind everything. I fully understand your pain. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe

hey, someone backed into the front of mine. under the front left headlight the bumper came out like a inch. there is a little clip looking areas. I was assuming the clip on the headlight got broken and isn't holding it flush anymore. looking at the car you worked on here it didn't have that area that was showing where it would clip to. Im not sure if I'm describing it correctly. but im going to pull it lose and take out the lamp and look at it. my dart has fog lights and everything, so i'm assuming you are working on a more basic brand. Great video tho, I was hoping it would be more easy. but taking off the front bumper is a lot more then what I am use to for changing a assembly. Thanks again.

I just took mine off to clean all the mud out I guess the mud cap access panel fell off the wheel well plastick. And so did the cap on the headlight cap

Evening Steven, It might be tight getting to items below or in the fender opening. You can try turning the wheels full left and full right to get access to the fasteners. Otherwise you should be able to....just not as easy but still possible. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe

Hey I have a question I have a big spider in my head light of a 2015 Dodge Dart and I was curious as to how much it would cost me to get somebody to get it out?

I have to wonder how it got there....that assembly is sealed so that has to be a crack or hole somewhere. Getting it out might be challenge. It most likely will require removal of the headlamp assembly and then using what ever tools will fit...to try to get to it. Labor could be around $200 give or take a few if it comes down to that.

Dont know if you're still on this channel but I'll ask anyways. 2015 dodge dart limited edition. Got in accident minor damage. Need to replace headlight assembly. Tore everything off and looks like it has a ballast on it. Question is the one I see online doesn't show a ballast. Would that mean It doesn't need one with that assembly or they all do and have to order separately? Thanks any help is appreciated

This was a very good video. I actually used this video last weekend to replace my upper bumper cover. This weekend I will be replacing my passenger headlamp AND my fender. Do you have any advice for the fender? Anything special that I will need to know? Any input would be great. :)Thankyou.

Hey, when I got the front bumper off and the headlight screws off, the main power connector to the headlight is like impossible to get off... I've tried this two times and I still cannot get that main connector off. Any tips or suggestions?

this video looks very helpful but i am unsure if i need to complete this task. my right lowbeam light is out i changed the bulb. still not working. i put the left bulb in because i know the left one works. Still the right side does not work. i believe my connector is bad. do you have a videk or any suggestions on replacing the connector??

I currently dont have a video on the connector. That issue is something that needs to be checked with a scanner that can access all the modules and actuate (turn on) individual items such as the right side bulb to see that is working at the module. As far as the connector....try wiggling the connector and pulling on the wiring to see if any change to see if it starts working.

No this isnt how to replace that bulb....this video is strictly on how to replace the headlamp assembly if damaged or for what ever reason. The bulbs are replaced with the bumper cover still in place.

right side headlight not working. i bought a new bulb [D3S] and still not working. there is power on plug but no ground i have been looking for the fuse but cant find the one that goes to the headlamp.any suggestions, please help.

Being that you have power on the terminal.....then the fuse wouldnt be the issue. There show to be 3 grounds at the headlamp assembly main connector which includes low and high beams, park, and turn signal circuits for the right front. You need to check all 3 grounds. Having a circuit tester like a "power probe" would help out with testing the circuits. I havent come across any headlight issues so far on this body style.

Remember….it’s not the bulb it’s the assembly which almost never has to be replaced unless it gets damaged. Otherwise the bulb is much simpler

You doing all this when if you turn your tire to the right all the way..look up under your tire undercarriage is going to be a little panel you can remove the headlight is under that...easy as hell to locate and remove

I don’t think you read the title of the video. It’s not how to replace the “bulb” , it’s how to replace the entire headlamp assembly…..the housing.

Tori Maldanado Not expensive usually if you pay for the bulb they will install it at no extra charge. Jiffy lube is one of those places and it will take them 20-30 mins to replace hope this was helpful

Thats not the steps needed to change the bulb. The video covered the lamp assembly being replaced. The bulb is access thru the fender liner where there is an access door. Appreciate you watching and for the comment

Haven't found help with this issue so far, but do you know if it's possible to replace the ballast in one of these headlights myself? Or is that best left up to the dealership? I say it's the ballast because I've replaced the factory HID bulb with a fresh one and then watched as the light worked and then slowly lost power and went off. Or would it be easier to put in a brand new headlight assembly? Would a new assembly even come with a ballast in it? Thank you! and thanks for the videos on this!

The service info shows that you need to remove the headlamp assembly as in the video that I made. Then you have access to the ballast. It is attached with screws/bolts and then once removed you will have access to the connector. I personally havent come across this issue yet so I cant say for sure that is or isnt the cause of your issue. Thanks for the question. Make sure to subscribe and share the videos with others.

The video is not about the bulb....its about the "headlamp assembly". Yes there is an access panel for the bulb. But if you need to replace the assembly possible due to damage or water getting into it.....this video is for that. Thanks for watching but seems there is some confusion.

You do realize that the title and subject of the video was replacement of the "headlight assembly".....that means housing, not bulb. The video wasnt about replacing the bulb. It was for replacing the assembly if you have moisture inside or actual damage like being in a wreck.
