how did you know that it was the actuator, and not the switch? is there a fuse for the gas? i have a santafe 2016 and I'm unsure where the problem is.

There is a 7.5 amp fuse for it. Look on the back cover of your fuse panel ( just left & under the steering wheel). I thought that was my problem but the fuse was good.

How did you diagnose that it was the back acctuator and not the button on the front panel door?

The latch part is broken off the old actuator

I could barely get the top bolt out but the bottom one is impossible.
