There are two individual wires coming out of the 2 new cluster parts, did you connect them together somehow then connect them both to the circuit board? I’m confused on how those two come together and i can’t tell from the final product you show after it is connected

 @Adamthedude all I did was cut off the part that goes to the separate controller box because that's not used and heat shrinked the wires so they didn't touch anything the other part just plugged into itself with the factory plugs. The part that plugs into the cluster has to be modified to plug in where the original backlighting plugged into. It doesn't matter which plug in you use it's a wire it can go both directions as long as both sides are connected. All I did was cut off the plastic connector around the pins and put heat shrink around the two pins so they can't touch each other when they're plugged into the cluster and plugged them into the back of the gauge cluster. They aren't marked so I just looked at the factory plug in at the plastic part determined which side would be upwards then I removed the plastic part around the pins and took a guess about how they plugged in honestly it's LED so they should only work one way if they don't turn on you got them backwards. I no longer own this Challenger so I won't be doing any followup videos for it. But it's currently still working for the current owner.

@@scottbouc2888thanks for the reply! That makes sense. I was able to make it work i believe doing what you said. The 2 cables coming out of the new cluster had plugs and i cut off the inverter cord that had the plug part and plugged the clusters into that and then i did what you did and stripped the pins out of the extra plug from the inverter cable to insert it into the circuit board, thanks for the video!

@Adamthedude glad you got it to work I am far from an step by step KZbin instructional teacher I just wanted to share what I did. I'm an automotive mechanic but there are plenty of better ones out there I just do what I can with the skills I have.

@@anthonyherrerahernandez5366 honestly I wasn't 100% positive it would work when I made the video so I didn't film doing it because I didn't want to provide bad information to people. It did work but I don't remember exactly what I did unfortunately. Basically all I did was remove the black plastic connector covering the terminals and the individually heat shrinked the wires individually so the terminals couldn't touch each other and basically plugged them into the cluster. I have since sold this Challenger so I won't be making any follow up videos about it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gauge still not working how did you fix yours ?
@scottbouc2888
@scottbouc2888 Ай бұрын
@@Juniorfitness5 this doesn't fix the gauges it's just for the backlighting if you have a gauge that isn't working that's a whole different issue.

@@scottbouc2888 so I put the gauges back to normal and they keep dropping down below zero, do you have any idea why? And how to fix it ?

@@Juniorfitness5 you don't have them installed correctly or they got damaged which I repeatedly said would happen if you're not careful or they were already possibly damaged. Watch the whole thing I say how to properly remove and install them.

you have the link? mine is doing the same too

Watch my first video about it the links in the description I will be honest it's not a hundred percent perfect fit it's decent but it could definitely be better the spot where it displays your mileage and alerts it cuts off the top portion of it so you can only read half of the letters but unfortunately I have not been able to find one that fits the later model years this one is for a 06-10 Dodge Magnum Charger and Challenger they are extremely similar but just different enough to be annoying if you want it perfect looking.

Man I need a walkthrough on how to hook the electricity part up to the original one

Basically what I did was looked at the original made sure the plug in faced the correct way in this case the clip retainer part faces upward away from the circuit board when you plug it in remove the plastic clip part from the wires it will not plug into the connector without removing it. Then I heat shrinked the two wire ends to make sure they didn't move I heat shrinked each individually and then heat shrinked both of them together so they couldn't come apart or slide backwards and pushed them into the factory cluster plug in the rest is pretty straightforward. You won't use the dial knob that comes with the kit that's designed to be used externally and plug into battery power. I cut it out of the setup and just heat shrinked the cut wires just in case something touched them so they wouldn't short out. Honestly I never did anything like this before so it was a bit nerve wrecking but it still works great other than the display part not being fully visible due to the slight difference in the backlighting setups but the gauges are all accurate and honestly I barely even notice it anymore. Sorry if I'm not detailed enough in the video I'm a pretty amateur KZbin person yet so I still have a lot of stuff to learn everything I do isn't edited so I can get a bit long winded and it's all recorded on a smartphone so it's pretty rough yet but I'm working on it.
