2013 Dodge Dart Reverse Camera Flipped Upsidedown After Uconnect Update

It turned out that the update was a coincidence. Others have said that their camera went upsidown after a new battery install. It is actually usually a loose connecting wire in your trunk or a loose diode in the camera itself.

Literally the exact same issue I’ve been having!!! 3 uconnect customer service reps weren’t any help either. They said take it to the dodge dealership.

@@janX9mine too!!! The Dodge Chrysler dealership had my 2014 Dart for 2 weeks on a faulty shifter cable problem to the transmission!!! Come to find out it was a recall by Dodge and an easy fix THAT SHOULD BE FREE!!! I’ve had enough of this dodge dart it is a piece of shit for real!!!

This happened to my 14 dart, I got into the trunk and pushed the connection in tight again and it seemed to correct the problem. Not sure if it was because of moisture freezing in the camera or just a faulty connection.

@@kiyanalee171 remove the cover from the trunk. Be careful not to break the tabs as they are a bit pricey. Follow the large black cord to the back of the camera. Push and wiggle that cord a bit towards where the camera is. It worked for me for a while and has now given up the ghost. 😆 Another tip, make sure to check your oil every week and keep a couple quarts in your trunk.

This just happened 2 days ago to my 14' Journey Limited. I had 2 updates and thought that was the issue, but it didn't correct it after both updates.

You might want to add to your description that the fix for this problem is in the thread that you reference and starts at post #29 and goes thru #34. That saves us slow readers a bunch of aspirin. Before that is where everyone is just guessing and repeating misinformation. After that is where people just read the first few posts and then post their own question or other garbage without ever reading #29. I'm currently working on this problem for my niece, but don't have time to take the camera apart. Will probably just buy a new aftermarket one (since the original doesn't sound so great). I will try to remember to come back and let everyone know if that worked.

Good point, I was probably busy or being lazy. I'm not a KZbinr, just a guy that posts videos sometimes. So I tend to do the minimum with my videos. Thank you for your comment, I updated the description.

Hay mine does that to but dident up grade nothing it just started doing it and can fix it Also touch screen don't work either so can't change the settings on my Ac do u know how to fix that

I don't, but I'd check all the fuses. Sadly, there are like 3 fuse boxes and the one under the dash is a bitch to get at. Such a tight space, so it's really awkward. I'd also recommend pulling out the stereo and see if there is a loose connection, if the fuses aren't the issue. The dash is really easy to disassemble, and can be done in 5-10 minutes if you know the procedure well. All you need is a Phillips head if I remember correctly. There are videos on KZbin that show you. Just search "Dodge Dart dash removal".

If you take the camera out and ipen it up theres an exposed wire the is touching a small piece of metal causing it to short out.

I covered the metal with a small dot of silicone.

This happened to my 13’ dart limited. And shortly after the camera blacked out and hasn’t came back on in two months... And apparently of you get a used or new camera you have to take it to the dealership to get programmed?! Does anyone know about this? I’m trying to avoid dealer expenses at all costs.. It’s definitely a big pain with my dark tinted windows. Also I don’t know what software my connect is since I bought it used last year with 89,000 miles and has 98,000 currently

Just purchase a used 2013 Dart for my daughter coming home from deployment in a couple weeks....did you find out a fix ?

No, but to be fair, I haven't done anything about it since this video. I'm lazy LOL BTW if the dart has any other issues, I have more videos about the car on my channel that may end up helpful in future. Also, there are a few recalls on these cars, so I'd recommend getting the VIN number off the car and punch it into the recall website to find out if they have been done on the car. For your daughter's safety, really do it. There is a transmission problem that will actually make the car take off all on its own. Seriously, it's dangerous. Or just the opposite can happen, you'll lose all power out of nowhere. It happened to me a few times while I was coming over multiple lanes of traffic. I almost got T-Bonned! I like the car, but the electrical goes wonky sometimes. So many Weird things have happened to my dart since 2012. Please post back if you get out fixed. I'd like to know.

Nope. And my Bluetooth stopped working after the update too. I'm going to call dodge about it. Their update messed up my car. They should rectify it. They probably won't, but one can hope.

How did you update your uconnect

I'm short. Download the update. Put on thumbstick drive. Insert into USB port in car. The navigation maps can also be updated this way.
