I own a 2013 Ford Escape SE 4WD 2.0 bought it 1 1/2 years ago for 13,500 with 91,000 miles and know has 119,000 miles and still runs new and never had a problem... I love my Ford Escape, don't know where they get AWD is called intelligent 4WD.. I live in Pa. AWD sends power to 1-or 2- or 3 tires when stuck or when needed... My escape send power to all tires in snow and never had A problem.. Might spin a little but all tires gets power .. Takes off great, handling great, comfort great and awesome power especially on snowy hills, I live in the country and gas not all that great on back roads about 20 mpg and 25-30 hw

thanks for the compliments! I tried to include everything that my Dad wanted to know and researched before he settled on the Escape this winter- the process of deciding to buy an Escape and actually getting it took nearly two months cos he had to research EVERY LITTLE DETAIL. The other version I have uploaded also shows off other features that didn't make it into this edit.

I felt like the AWD gives the car a much more solid, sure-footed feel as opposed to the FWD models, even in every day driving. I agree, properly rated tires are essential for travelling to anywhere with snow whether FWD or AWD, but in situations where it is slippery, it does seem to do pretty well. We tried seeing what it would take to get all four wheels spinning on loose soil, and it always hooked right up and went.

hey man.....excellent video...People like you help a lot.... That configuration is my favorite. Power, traction, and good ride. I dont need sunroof or SYNC-Touch... or the food activated lift gate.... hahahah Make more videos!!!

btw, while I agree the foot activated lift gate and sunroof aren't must-have items, but trust me the MyFordTouch system is pretty awesome.

I have the titanium awd for 3 months now .I am very happy with the escape. I to have added a K&N air filter as I do withe all my cars. I like to squeeze as much power as i can . I have not seen a any difference in mileage with the K&N ,but I only have just over one thousand miles on the escape. Great review Johnny L. N.Y.S

when i say koreans i am referring to the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe. Sit in a CR-V and then sit in the Escape and you tell me which is nicer. On a recent road trip we averaged 25.9mpg, with AWD. When comparing be sure you are comparing the Real-Time AWD CR-V.

The escape handles well in light snow .I have not driven in heavy snow this year. Maybe next year.

How's the AWD handling the NY state snow on the factory tires? I think you'll find your mileage improves after the first 2-3,000 miles. There's also a leaf efficiency rating thing in the dashboard that leaves you a little confused, but I imagine we can wring better economy out of the escape - especially with a revised ECM program for fuel efficiency and power - the shift points and 6-Speed automatic transmission feel great.

@boowhiteghostboo I am wondering what the model number of that K and N drop in air filter is that you mentioned? I am getting not to good gas mileage and would love to try a new air filter to see if it makes a difference. Great review!

After a couple years with the Mazda CX you will wished you had bought the Escape. Cost of ownership is high on Mazdz products.

how do you get this car to show you the 4WD steps - is it something you get by pushing the Mode button? i drove for the first time today in snow and it was a bit slippery.

the AWD is always on, the computer sensors will send power to the appropriate wheels. AWD is half the equation, but your tires are the other half. Be sure your tires are rated for snow and have plenty of tread depth left on your tires. Check the tread using a penny. holding the penny straight up and down, face the top of abe's head towards the tire and hold the penny in the groove of the tire. if the ridge of the tire and groove doesn't cover abe's head, it may be time to replace.

How do you like living with yours? Did you opt for AWD or FWD?

Why compliment the transmission in the escape by comparing it to the cx5 tranny.. The cx5 transmission is a piece of junk with its slow shifting and holding at higher rpms it feels like it never wants to shift.. Bad comparison

I bought a 2007 Ford Escape XLT, it was a cancer, the first thing went once the warranty was over is the gas tank then the rust ate it like locusts, I never bought another ford, although I bought it for the dogs, because they cannot go in the BMW or my wife's Mercedes, the first thing they did, they ate the seats on a brand new car and because of it, I was never able to sell it, luckily the seat belts even though chewed up, they still functioned because to replace them was a fortune. Never bought another ford since that car, only Europeans. The new dogs deserve a new car, I am thinking a Volvo station wagon.

The lad recommends the CX5 over the Escape....don't agree with him. The cost of ownership of the Mazda is much higher.

Do not buy one of these cars I have a 2013 Ford escape 2.0 and only get 17 miles per gallon it does not handle bends well it is rear heavy. And I just found out I need to change the front light bulb and you got to tear half the front end off just to get the bulb out why why? Do not buy one of these cars they are garbage biggest mistake I ever made!
