2013 Honda Accord EX-L Review and Opinion

This is my review/opinion on the 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. Unfortunately I lost some footage but I hope you find this information useful. A clip that I lost included the engine bay and I was very disappointed to see some of the bolts with heavy rust.

Good job! I like your review from a real world user's perspective, unlike a lot of "professional" reviews here on KZbin. They may have better camera work, sound and editing, but in terms of contents they are pretty much paid advertising.

Another reason for the high revs was b/c he was accelerating hard with econ button on. Notice how the speedometer is green while he accelerating instead of white…econ button

This CVT is one of the best on the market, I'm told! I bought one, a EX-L, and indeed is a bit diff but good: takes a little getting used to, but it does perform. At triple digit speeds, the vehicle is rock steady with a nice engine note! Kudos to Honda!

I heard a lot of people love the 2013 Honda Sport with the 6 speed manual. Not so much with the CVT. The difference in gas mileage isn't that much of a trade off for more of a manual shift "fun" factor.

Repair costs are much lower on hondas versus mazdas, so you might get more longevity with the honda...

Brakes were good. In general it's a solid car. The things I didn't like were the seats, the engine/CVT combo, the lack of split seats in the back, the instrument panel, the lane departure capabilities and the rusty bolts in the engine bay were a turn off.

I've test-driven both Mazda 6 2.5 and Honda Accord EXE 2.4 in Europe. BTW, we have the Honda with the 5-speead automatic transmission which is just great! Overal, I liked the Accord much more than the Mazda! Now trying to make a choice between the Accord and the Audi A6.

A cvt would keep rpms to a minimum for better fuel economy when driven normally. However, when the throttle is wide open it will stay at higher rpms for peak performance

Very hard to beat Toyota and Honda in the long run. WHY? mantainig cost and durability. Honda will not be the fastest or best looking, but all it have to do it do it well & for a long time. that is hard to beat ,Mercedes did not even live that promise.

The Ex-L model has 278 hp , 252 lb feet of torque. O-60 on flat terain, dry conditions of 5.6 seconds.

The v-6 does, the i4 has 185 hp, 182 ft lb/torque and 7.6 seconds. Still not bad.

i thought cvt stays low revs...shifts to highest gear for fuel consumption...high revs is wut manual drivers like...but autos shift before redline..

I test drove the Altima shortly after I did the accord it's been a while, but I recall I liked the Altima better. There is however some buzz on the internet about a noisy steering hydraulic pump or something to that nature, I would check to see if this was resolved. I did not notice any noise on my test car. At the end of the day you need to test drive each one and pick the one you think you will like for the long run. The only contender that I haven't tested yet is the Ford Fusion. The new 2015 Ford Focus looks interesting but it's not a mid size.

i love the layout of the screen on top with high-res but its use is limited and then secondary screen looks like something from a childrens toy. The interior shows signs of cheapness contrary to what magazines say. That 'dusty' trim around the secondary screen can be easily taken off and its a cheap piece of plastic trim. Ugh.

Did this have an S option in the shifter? That is the "performance" gear and you didn't run the Honda on it. The automatic function is designed for economy and cruising. This creates an integrity question on the review. You judged the Mazda better lol.
