I have a 2012 Corolla LE. It is probably one of the most boring and uninspiring cars to drive. Cheap plastics every where in the interior, ancient torsion beam rear axle, drum brakes on the rear wheels, and an ancient 4 speed automatic that dates back to the late 1980's. However, it is also one of the most reliable and bulletproof cars you can buy. There are far better and more advanced cars on the market, but the Toyota Corolla sells in huge numbers because it provides dependable transportation at a reasonable cost. I bought mine for all these reasons and know that I will get at least 200,000 miles out of it.
@marajevomanash2 жыл бұрын
It might be boring but it won't leave you stranded. The longevity of Toyota's parts is what makes a difference in the cost of ownership. In addition, they are judicious in the implementation of new electronics or systems that can compromise reliability. Toyota just knows how to make good cars.

I found a 2013 Toyota Corolla Le Black with 20,487 miles . The price is 12,500. It is a clean car fax ,clean title, and had one owner . Is the price good enough. I was thinking the car should be 11,500 but they won't lower the price .
@Cams-garage8 жыл бұрын
+Sushanta Rudra That is a great deal. A 2013 Toyota Corolla LE with 20,487 miles on it would go for about $13,837 according to a quote from Kelly Blue Book. $12,500 might seem high, but that's actually a low price for that car, especially with that low of mileage. Just make sure you look at the car closely to make sure it meets your standards, for instance, make sure it doesn't have too many scratches or dings. That's a good deal for that car and the Corolla is worth it.
@suhartarudra26068 жыл бұрын

@suhartarudra26067 жыл бұрын
No. I bought a 2014 Toyota Corolla Le Plus for $12,500 with 26,432 miles. That's a great deal on a 2013 Toyota Corolla CE! With that low miles and a great price, uyou should buy it.

I have a 2012 Toyota Corolla with 51,159 miles on it! my car runs great! I got my oil changed today. on the highway, I noticed my car sounded louder than normal. I took it back and my mechanic told me the other guy forgot to put the air filter on. Is this going to affect my car in the long run with me driving 20 miles altogether without an air filter?
@Cams-garage7 жыл бұрын

Why did Toyota still use a four-speed automatic transmission in this generation of the Corolla when other cars in its class use five speed or six speed automatic transmissions?
@Cams-garage8 жыл бұрын
I believe it's because Toyota's 4-Speed has been very reliable so they decided not to change it. Also, it allows more power and speed in each gear.
@spanish5838 жыл бұрын
+AUDIRS41997 I see. Why did they update the Camrys transmission more often? And are these Corollas still reliable despite the fact that a lot of these Corollas were made in the United States and Canada for United States citizens and Canadians instead of Japan?I know these cars are reliable, but what do the carmakers use in Toyotas that aren't made in Japan to make them still reliable?
@Cams-garage8 жыл бұрын
Yeah the United States and Canadian Corollas are still very reliable. I believe Toyota just uses the same parts as the Japan manufacturing plant, except the parts may be made in a different location. Toyota pays about the same amount of money in order to get the reliability as the Japan parts. As far as the transmission in the Camry; I believe Toyota decided to change the out dated transmission in the Camry to something better because they were redesigning pretty much the whole car. Also, they probably changed the transmission for better fuel economy.
@spanish5838 жыл бұрын
+AUDIRS41997 Well then I'm glad I chose to get this car instead of either the 2013 Malibu, 2013 Accent or 2013 Cruze. My dad didn't want me to get the Corolla because he thinks they're boring. My Corolla will probably outlast all of those cars. How are those other cars long term?
@Cams-garage8 жыл бұрын
Yes Corollas are definitely great cars to buy. As far as the Malibu and the Cruze...I would avoid them. American cars aren't as reliable, however they are getting better...but they don't stand against Toyota's reliability. One of my friends has a Cruze and she has already had some issues...her thermostat failed and her check engine light has gone on a few times. I also know someone with a Malibu and I think he has done well. But American made cars aren't as good, yes they do offer more features and performance but not reliability. The Accent is a good car, I'm not too familiar with them but I do know that they are good with reliability, still not as good as Toyota but they are good.
