Unfortunately, the Volvo 5-cylinder is history. Thumbs up if you think Volvo should make a V40R with the new 306 hp T6 engine, AWD, and the details of the Carbon Edition V40 (red belts, special seats, carbon roof, etc.) :D It would absolutely destroy the Megane RS and Golf GTI :D

Yes, ford used it in those, but it was developed in the 90's in the volvo 850. Volvo and Porsches weissach engineering centre developed it. Other variants of the whiteblock/modular engine are the 6 cyl series and also some 4 cyl series. (6 cyl series in the xc90, s80, s/v90 and 960). These are all inline engines, not to be confused with the v6 engines made by PRV (peugot, renault and volvo).

I have never paid much attention to these particular model but since i recently bought one at the fraction of its price i'm not looking for anything else. Bare in mind i love the audi A3 (owned 3 of them) had 2014 bmw 120i m sport's, rented the Merc A180 for a long term.. nothing compares to this ... my model its the 1.6 T4 full options, been driving for nearly months now, definitely will upgrade the engine for a 2.5 T5 (full beans) .. or just buy another one for myself and give the 1.6 to the wife.. since their price is dropping day by day

indeed, and it depends on electricity and stupid driving aids, i only have airconditioning, power windows in front, electric adjustable mirrors and thats about it. I love my analog dash meters/gages, the miles/kilometer counter broke down once, but it was a easy fix, just put in a new sprocket and you're good to go. Analog is way more reliable and simple.

Ford doesn't have the geartronic gearbox. The problem with ford models is related to the dry clutch powershift.
