Then isn't the problem in the end gender roles/definition ingrained in us by our culture and upbringing, which defines that girls look, act and behave a certain way and guys look, act and behave another way. The source of gender inequality? I guess maybe in general some of those generalizations are true but not for everyone. There ARE flower boys so there are some boys that are prettier than typical girls. Looks aside, nowadays there are stay-at home dads and moms who go to work full time not as a housewife. Maybe once we break down all these gender-restrictive definitions, we can move past all the prejudice and bias associated with genders. I guess your anatomy (well more like your XX or XY chromosomes) does define your sex because reproduction requires those distinctions. But living your life a certain way should not be defined by gender. LIke the show said some transgenders try too hard, but there are also biological females that also try too hard. I think the issue is not whether they are biologically male or female, just the act of trying too hard may not be a desirable trait. But instead of making it a "trying too hard issue", the focus ends up shifting to gender as though it's worse that a male is trying too hard. Like males can't like pink because he would be too girly. I think it's time we get away from that. I think there are differences between male and female that are scientifically proven, but other things that are not specific to male or female should be be used to define being male or female. Maybe there will be a day when girls can be handsome and guys can be beautiful and vice versa and everyone can take that as a compliment.
