Recently one remote was bad and we just kept using the good one until it went out yesterday. Saw your video and had it done in no time.. I've got a question for you, I changed our remote battery yesterday in no time and it worked great. Today I went to our other remote which had previously died a few months ago and the thing don't work. I even double check your video to make sure I had the battery going the right way which I did and follow that by trying a different new battery. That one didn't work either. Do these things go bad?

Thanks for the video. I have a key fob for a 2015 Toyota Highlander and when it stopped working, I had the dealership replace the battery. During battery replacement, no antistatic wrist strap was used, and after battery replacement the key fob still would not work. Now I have one key fob with an old battery that works and one key fob with a new battery that does not. I opened both key fobs and switched batteries, but nothing changed. Could have something happened to one of the key fobs during battery replacement at the dealership while not using an antistatic wrist strap or any other antistatic process, which may have damaged the key fob circuit board?

it is possible to damage a circuit board while changing the battery but the damage would usually be to the battery holder not due to static
