If you notice excessive vibrations, rough shifting and or shaky acceleration could be your transmission motor mount.
This will apply to any of the Mazda 6 & CX-5’s equipped with the naturally aspirated 2.5 Inline 4 cylinder ranging from the years 2014-2020

at 80k I replaced, 2 front struts, sway bar links and bushing, trans mount, exhaust flex pipe, and control arms twice cuz cheap moog. Im thinking if I should replace the rear engine mount also?

why not put all the bolts back are you planning to remove it often? Mine just went so when rolling in first there is a huge thud as you let go off the gas pedal.

Yeah so I can confirm its same for the 2L 6spd manual cx5. I did a few things differently (less screws to remove). I'll post soon. I swapped it but turns out was a waste of time as it was the bone rear tranny mount I replaced last week that went bad. I kept the original so put it back in.

Hey fyi guy. Thsnks for posting this helpful video. I gave a 15 mazda 6. When coming to a stop it feels like trans maybe shifting forward and makes a banging sound. Also clunk when putting in gear. I suspect the mount is my problem. One question..where on trans and how much pressure to put on it with jack for support?

Sorry for the late response use a block of wood and find a solid sturdy piece of metal on the trans. Don’t actually “jack it up”, simply support it, you know your supporting it enough when the trans doesn’t fall/dip down when pulling out the mount

Leave it on the ground just make sure to support the trans

when you are comparing both mounts in minute 4:54 on the left mount (original) the top rubber is separated is this suppose to look like that or not? i have vibrations sometimes on certain rpms and clunking noises could this be it?

I would say it’s not suppose to look like that. The only real way to be sure is to inspect the mount but with the labor required to do it you miswell buy the part. I could be a multitude of things causing your issue.

I have a Cx5 that has a knocking sound on the driver's side..replaced the tierod ends, ball joints and bushes but still knocks are felt over bumps and rough surfaces..what could be the issue

If you notice that the car doesn’t rebound after hitting a bump and it floats like a boat in water your shock absorber could be the problem I do have a video replacing the front shock if that happens to be your problem

@@eliudmaina865 Had same problem. 2015 mazda 6. It was the swaybar.links. Replaced them myself and noises were gone. Not to hard to do.

I replaced mine on a 3 and it was really hard to line the bolts back up on the replacement.. I had the transmission supported from below too?

Yea the trans has to be supported sometimes even jacked up a little to get the bolt back ij

On my 2016 Mazda 6 touring ,the front side engine mount starting leaking fluid from the upper black seal, should I replace both engine mounts front and rear engine mounts? Should I also replace the transmission mount as well? I'm using OEM Mazda replacement parts. My mechanic will do the labor, but i will get the parts. thanks.

There are 3 mounts, front engine mount, the lower mount at the bottom of the engine & the trans mount. If you can do them all go for it

Is transmission mount hard to install or easy if u have the tools and car lift like at a mechanic shop?

There’s no set mileage on trans mounts. Time and mileage are a factor, how you hard you accelerate/decelerate and how you shift are all factors

does the transmission mount has fluid inside? mine gave in and I think it's leaking?? I thought it was coolant but the location only makes sense it's either the mount or some chemical from the battery

I would say no I believe it’s a solid rubber mount. You may need to do further diagnosing

Sorry i wish I recorded how it drove. I noticed vibrations on drivers side, rough shifting when going from Park to Drive. Also if you have someone sit in the car and go through the gears you’ll see the drivers side of the engine bay flexing up and down

My Mazda has a scrunching noise coming from the drivers side. I’m wondering if this could be it. It only makes it while in drive when I hit and let go of the gas. In neutral I hear nothing.

@@M0USE327 I actually have videos replacing all 3 mounts on this car, visually inspect the front & dog-bone mount underneath of the car. make sure that the bushing aren't busted and making the engine sit lop sided. then its a good idea to simulate driving. have someone sit in the car, car running and parking brake up, while your looking into the engine bay. have the driver shift between drive & reverse and see if the engine moves to much or sits funny. then while in D or R have them put one foot on the brake pedal & one foot taping the gas to torque the engine and see if its bouncing to much. and from which direction you see the excessive play that could help you identify which mount is bad.

It says transmission mount but isn't this just an engine mount ? I thought transmission mount was under gear box ?

No it’s really a trans mount. In front wheel drive cars the engine and trans sit horizontal in the engine bay, FWD transmissions are actually called transaxles, because the trans also acts like a differential and has cv axles going through it. RWD cars usually have the trans mount under her gear box

Good question, I have a vid replacing all 3 mounts. ppl call the bottom mount a dog bone mount, it could be considered a trans mount it kinda sits where the engine and trans bolt up. If you have a All wheel drive CX-5 the job may be slightly different for the bottom mount

@@ultimatediyguy395 mine is just the front 2 wheel drive ..car is not super smooth on start up and at say 80 ish get what feels lole a rumble . Steering wheel feels fine but it feels like it's from engine tbh not wheel related
