2014 Camaro ZL1 Gets a Stage 3 Lunati Voodoo Cam!! 7k RPM shifts!!

Picked up my buddy Denis 5th Gen Camaro ZL1. It got a Lunati Voodoo Cam upgrade, a DSX flex fuel kit and 1300cc injectors. It’s getting the Monster Clutch installed soon as well.

Yeah I had a similar set up and hit 620whp... built a 4in stroker, bored to get 419cid with a stg4 BTR LSA/LS9 cam , spinning the supercharger at 15# boost and get 712whp/698t on a Mustang dyno.

@@mikehogan5087 It does have a stock supercharger with some mods like a smoothed snout and a 103TB, the brick is re-enforced, and the pullies are 2.55/9.17 with a dual fan AFCO HX. We still picked up some heat and on really hot days the timing pulls a bit. For that I could maybe run a chiller. But I really have run out of options for gaining big HP other than getting a larger supercharger.

@@mikehogan5087 In stock form a Gen5 ZL1 is a powerful daily driver. Road and weather conditions will determine tire choices. The MPG must not be a factor if you want to DD. Not even sure what a stock unit gets for MPG, we switched to flex fuel and run E85 as I can get it readily. When new the ZL1 was boasted to take 20,000 miles and heavy track days before possibly breaking. Checking fluids, topping off and changing oils. The brake pads are a snap to change yourself. What you spend for maintenance on a regular car plus maybe 15-20% on quality materials. As for being worth it? I can't seem to keep my ass out of the saddle or keep the smile off my face! And one might have to look close to determine which is which...

It’s on 13lbs of boost vs stock 10lbs 650 @ the crank in stock form. It’s a manual transmission It’s on E85 What makes you think it won’t make 750hp ?

@@jonathanlawson4667 That would be 25% drivetrain loss, which would be off the charts for a 2-wheel drive, manual transmission. Should be more like 15%. This calculator says it should take 14.4psi, but the VE of 80% would be considered low for a Gen V LT4. Bump the VE to 84% and you get to 865hp crank x ..85% for drivetrain loss = 750whp. racingcalcs.com/psi-boost-for-horsepower-target-calculator/

Given that this vehicle already has a cam upgrade, it is probably already 740hp at the crank on stock boost. Increasing the boost by 3-4psi would get it to 750whp. Not sure why you are so sure it won’t make what the owner states. There are lots of ZL1 LE out there making 750whp and more.
