People LOVE the C7! I was with a friend and his blue one in San Fran not too long ago. It was parked in the lot just north of the bridge. There was an Audi R8 V10 Spyder maybe 10 spots down but the Vette still had more people taking pictures of it! It was a weird fun thing to witness. :o

Great video Kyle! One correction by the way! At 6:08 you mentioned that this generation of Corvette presents the most powerful naturally aspirated engine the series has seen, this is not exactly true. The C2 Corvette Stingrays had a 427ci 500+HP V8 engine available. Otherwise, great video as always! Keep it up.

Couple things: IMO the dark grey seems a bit subdued when it comes to colours for this car, but I do get that some like a less look at me style while still owning nice things. Also the personal name plate on the console, while cool I don't know how I'd feel having "joe blows" name on my console when the car becomes second hand, I'd be googling how to take that plate off with out wrecking anything. Nice review Kyle and damn nice car, whats not to like, it's a corvette! Pitty I have never driven one whether it be a C7 or any of the other 6 versions.

***** Head up north to D.C. for Cars and Coffee. One guy drives up from Richmond on Fridays, sleeps in his car in the parking lot, and then he is there early enough to get a parking spot. Takes care of hotel arrangements. Also, if you make it there, I have some people that would more than likely allow you to do reviews of their cars. One gentleman owns a '39 Lincoln Zephyr Sedan, another owns a Shelby Dodge Durango, '57 Jaguar Mark IV sedan, the only hand built 1970 Dodge Challenger, and so many other cars. One you may enjoy is a 1964 Ferrari 330GT 2+2. What do you say? I'll hook you up.....

ok rant time. If you don't wanna row your own gears, why buy a corvette? Granted the new 8-spd auto maybe faster in a straight line but it's not nearly as much fun as the 7-speed stick would be. If the automatic was a dual clutch or automated manual of some sort, I can maybe understand. But nope, it's just a conventional automatic. Kind of Defeats the purpose of driving a car like the corvette.

If you're in a highly traffic or congested area, you'd buy an automatic. Also, as you get older, you may not have that need to row your own gears Plus, not everyone KNOWS how to drive a standard, plain and simple.

I agree a lot with you but it makes sense for Chevrolet to offer the automatic transmission. There are many people out there who want a Corvette and it's power but are either a bit older and may not be willing to buy a stick shift or are simply unable to deal with a stick in their city with the traffic. Fact is by not offering the automatic, Chevy would simply lose a lot of sales and it wouldn't be a smart business decision. I do agree that a dual clutch would be a nice idea for them to offer. Those standard automatic paddles are awful.

Simple fact is some people don't want to, as long as theres a choice I'm ok with it. I mean I drive a manual ranger in traffic no problem but I can see where people might opt for an automatic. Some people just don't care enough about the driving experience to opt for a manual.

i've been driving stick for 2 years straight and it gets tiring after a while. and when i switched back to automatic, life was so much easier. i never want to buy manual again. paddle shift is alright. it's faster and more convenient.
