Meaghan, I am going by the information provided by Chrysler to the automotive press, I emailed their media contacts and the response from Chrysler HQ was that it is still Garmin. Until Chrysler changes this, I'll be going with the information they provide.

Meaghan, as you can see on Chrysler's website, it is a Garmin nav system www.driveuconnect.com/features/navigation/

Yes it is Garmin GPS. Much better than any oem system.

I feel like I they could do a hell of a lot better job with these head units. First off, they need to remove all traces of lag. Secondly, they need to rethink the damn UI, it's too clustered (better than most though, I do give them credit). They also need to use capacitive touch screen (I HATE it when I have to mash my finger into the head unit). I have a whole bunch of ideas for the Uconnect system.

My u connect system crashed by the dealership doing a software update. And I had to purchase another head unit. Still fighting for payment of replacement.

does the 2016 dodge charger RT V8 or V6 come with the same uconnect version of the one here in review? Interested on how that updated system is now with current technology. browsed your channel for that updated version and can't seem to find it here nor anywhere else. Do you mind doing an updated review on the vehicle stated above also with its uconnect navigation system? Thank you.

Excellent review. How is the sound system fidelity?
@AAutoBuyersGuide10 жыл бұрын
Excellent if you get the top-end Alpine sound system going down to average for the base system.

Any idea what the delay rearview camera would be used for? In settings for the rearview camera there is a box that you can check to delay it. What is the purpose of that?
@AAutoBuyersGuide10 жыл бұрын
In theory this would be if you're making a multi-point turn and you don't want the display to constantly flash back and forth. I'm not sure why it matters either.

I have been having trouble with my GPS and Bluetooth in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Chrysler is telling me that they don't have a fix for my bluetooth which drops, freezes, etc. Anybody know how I can fix or do I have to wait for the dealer to figure out.
@AAutoBuyersGuide11 жыл бұрын
Yikes. Time to fix and re-upload I think!

The omission of a CD player seems to me to be a big minus for the Chrysler. Take a premium sound system and then rely on crappy mp3 fidelity for external music? I don't think that's a good idea. I can't find any easy solution to the problem, and it's nuts that this looks like it will be the reason I buy a Ford Fusion or Mazda6 instead of the Chrysler 200. I was sold on the 200 until this detail surfaced. A note for Alex: You say "focusing on digital entertainment." You do realize that Compact Disk is a digital medium, right?

My biggest issue with the 8.4" infotainment screen is not being able to use it while the vehicle is in motion. There should be an option to deactivate the feature. The front passenger should be able to use it while the driver focuses on the road. It's a pain in the a$$ to pull over for 5 minutes to check an address. I realize there are voice commands available but having to repeat yourself multiple times is just as annoying.
@cee-ceegibson52689 жыл бұрын
+J High well you should be able to enter an address before you start driving and if you have the 8.4 A/AN you also have the option of turning the voice guidance on so that the system tells you when to turn and if you think the guidance is too loud you can always adjust the volume
@ivanlowjones9 жыл бұрын
Cee-Cee Gibson There have been several times I've needed to look up an address while driving in heavy traffic. Believe it or not, people may decide on another destination after leaving their home or point of trip origin. Driving in rush hour traffic isn't the best time to pull onto the shoulder of the road to find and enter an address, then merge back into heavy traffic. As I stated earlier, my voice commands system can be temperamental at the most inopportune times. Thanks for your suggestion though, genius.
@cee-ceegibson52689 жыл бұрын
+J High yeah but remember you have the option when you put the address in to select the fastest route..economical avoid construction..and that stuff

The map was out of date when I purchased my 2014 Durango Conquest, there are no free updates available even in the first year, the text messaging is terrible and hard to understand, and Uconnect is $15 plus taxes a month and does nothing but remote car stuff and garbled text. Additionally, if you need the assist in the first year you own the car, don't buy it. Location - why it has electronic ignition and should be theft proof. Biggest disappointment for a $51,000 car is Uconnect

fixento What exactly is a Dodge Durango Conquest? I have a Durango Citadel.

fixento No problem, I have my share as well. I've had no major issues with my Durango infotainment system. The Uconnect app in my Android phone can be stubborn at times and cause my Pandora and Iheart Radio apps to disconnect a few times. The issue is the app on my phone, not the infotainment system itself. I'm still in the 1 year free trial period until next January.

In a year I used the remote cell phone system twice so I didn't think it was worth the $15 a month. I have a problem with parts on the recalls, still one pending. I wrote the prez of Chrysler office a complaint about the nav system since the maps were dated and not accurate when I bought it. The response was ever two years they should have an update and one was coming out, Typical car company lack of customers service. I haven't checked recently if came out. I bought one of the first made and it has a 1 disk DC player in the console which I didn't need for the $500.

Uconnect sucks ass, the navigation sucks, its like from the early 2000's no live traffic, i still use google maps over the nav app on my 15 JGC, and they want you to pay 20 bucks a month for 3G services that suck.
