Had a friend just pick up one of these for 75k. Black on black with black rims. Pretty awesome to drive with the 6 speed manual. I'm in my 50s and had no problem getting in and no I'm not a fat person. Another friend that was with me almost burned his leg because he was wearing shorts and forgot about were the exhaust is. lol

A Hellcat HEMI a 392 HEMI or a 5.7 to cut the cost and to make it more affordable maybe get a new ferrari sourced V10 for hardcore racers and a 8 speed auto

It is a pity they never managed to tame it's heat and comfort issues. It could also really have used paddle shifters so you didn't have to heel toe in a rocket. For what it is the Corvette still does it's job with more civility and an easier to live with price tag.

Okay, my point is this. I know it's been a year and the 2015 is available (technically), but given the fact that when it's all said and done, this is (when fully loaded) going to be a 140k Dodge. Now, if one is really going for the best "pure driver's car", do you think that the viper would be a better choice than say an equally priced Porsche GT3? Just wondering. (Hoping for Steve's thoughts)

i want this car so badly, but alas i am 6'7'' and it definitely seems like i wouldn't even be able to see out the windshield without constantly sloping my back over the steering wheel. but that's what's so cool about the viper. it's like how italian cars used to be: you have to put up with histrionics in order to enjoy owning and driving one. weird that in today's automotive market, a manual transmission counts as being part of "histrionics" though.

Viper looks so sexy and is fast af, but seeing videos of it, it seems thats all it has to offer. With feeling small bumps, uncomfortable interior seats, and the heat from the side exhaust, it definitely puts a damper in the car. It is one of the best sports cars made in america, but If those 3 problems were fixed, this would be the king of american cars

Dodge viper is a real muscle car that lets the driver well. . . drive. This guy gave one of the worst review's of a viper that I've seen to date. Again, don't believe his BS

Dodge should've always offered an automatic for Viper. This would've allowed them to sell more to those who want to cruise on a Sunday without having to constantly shift, etc. An automatic like the one in the upcoming Hellcat should increase sales. Yeah, I know, they want to stay true and pure, blah, blah, blah. Look at where they're are with Viper sales.

TandemDawgBMG In order for purist to be happy, Dodge has to have a business case. And if they don't sell beyond what the manual market calls for, then purist will not see the next generation, manual or not. An automatic will spread the development cost and appeal to a wider audience. Just look at the Corvette, they're smart enough to offer an auto even in the upcoming C7 Z06.

***** Agreed. The Viper is a heavily underrated car. It responds very well to modifications with little or not engine work and as for the exhaust problem, many people have fixed it by fitting it with high-flow cats which don't hold the heat as much. Can't wait for the ACR to come out!!!

Yes, you'd be mad to buy this over a slower car, that after 5 pulls on the highway becomes a much slower car. Screw hand-finished paint that has no orange peel, I'll take a Chevrolet with it's shitty plastic bumpers and enough orange peel to require a complete dry sanding of the entire clearcoat. There are three types of people that hate on this car: People that find a Toyota Camry to be a great car, homosexuals, and Corvette fans; often times all three converge into stupid posts like yours.
