2014 Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo FG review

Basically the greatest ever RWD Sedan made in the history of man. My standard motor with Valve springs is making 690rwhp and the stock pistons are rated for 1100hp, Rods need to be changed above 750hp.

Love these cars... been in a XR6 and the non-turbo engine goes hard. Can only imagine what the Turbo is like! And that upshift at 1:40 :D

Just got my second car ever. A 2007 BF II XR6 Ute, and I must say it is an amazing and smooth car to drive. I honestly don't know how people refused to buy these cars. I am gonna miss these beautiful vehicles, and hopefully my ute lasts a long time :)

Glad to see Ford Australia kept the inline 6 4.0l, and continued to develop it. They killed it here in the states years ago (and certainly never turbocharged it).

Sadly, I still won't see this in the states. It is bad enough to be part of an ever shrinking minority of manual transmission driving Americans. I swear within 10 years, the only manuals that I will be able to buy here will be BMW, Audi, VW and Subaru.

I’ve had 6.5l per 100 kms out of my FG XR6 Turbo on the highway and I love the awesome torque and power. What a crying shame Ford never exported them to the US market to sell plenty more and save the Falcon! Shame on you Ford! So Bring back the Barra in a new even more improved version. It had and still has such incredible potential in a road car!

the XR6 Turbo officially produces 270kW/533Nm on 95 RON fuel with standard boost pressure (10psi), but can generate 20 per cent more power and torque than Ford claims, with up to 335kW/670Nm available in overboost (about 10.5psi) in the right conditions

I would still like an FGX XR6. A friend of mine had a 4th Gen Liberty and now has a 3.6 Outback. In between that he had a VZ Calais and a FG Mk2 XR6 NA. I asked him recently what did he think as an owner. One word. 'Fantastic'. It will be in time well look back and wonder 'only if...'

My boss has one of these in the UK. Checked it for myself, 12k GBP for the car and around 3.5k gbp for shipping all in with everything. Not expensive to have an exclusive car like this, only one in the UK and that’s my boss’s 😒 I want one

The last fords and holdens do represent excellent value for money. But technology marches on and future cars will improve over time. But it is really going to cost you to get a comparable car in cabin size. People who need larger cars will be hurting at the hip pocket in the future no doubt.

Just got an FG and it's a great car with plenty of performance for being an NA one, and it gets 12.5 mostly around the city. But I can't understand why they put very low and soft head rests in the back seats.. only a child or very short person would be safe from whiplash back there it's pretty obvious in this video too at :56 Aside from that, great to be in an Aus engineered and made car that is this good!

CarAdvice.com.au I've read up alot on that, and this one hasn't got bad clunk or rollover, plus it's only got 40,000kms on the clock at $19,000, plus it's a limited edition. Normally i'd just go to a dealer but this deal is excellent.

c m1234 tr6060, is a good transmission for holding power, it is essentially a tr56 magnum, and your car will have more desirability on resale because of its rarity

My 2001 Maxima has all of that minus a turbo ..and gets 850 ks to a tank of ulp oh and the boot has a FULL SIZE SPARE ... Such a stupid omission in Oz ...love the Barra engine ..but the VQ30DE is no slouch oh and the Maxima does 230kph ...and the finish is excellent

i own one of these. i was a holden v8 owner for years and naturally saw these as the enemy so therefore hated them...till i drove one! 3 yrs later and i love it to bits! the (official) hp output of these is underated, even in std form they will dispatch any factory ss and will see off most factory hsv,s as well. if you love horsepower you just cant go past one of these. they are not a perfect car but what car is? mines had its fair share of wty work but so did my last car a VE ss ute which i also brought new. aftermarket tuning will get you 400hp at the wheels for about 5g, all bolt on,no putting in cams,headwork, etc, try to get that from any holden for the money.
