hows the pre face lifts transmission compare to facelift. is there a significant diff in upshift/downshift times. im looking to buy a c63 but wanna save money and go w a pre facelift 2011 thats post headbolt fix. my only concern is the diff transmission

Same I’m tryna either get C63 or E55 soon. If I got a C63 I’d be going for 2012 or later, only reason im even considering a C63 is because their are no e55s for sale in my area. And I don’t know how well this transmission holds up compared to the bulletproof 5 speed in the e55

That seems like a really good transmission. Seems like it downshifted nearly to the redline when you wanted it to. Doesn’t seem like it does it’s own thing whenever it wants to.

I think its because the facelifted version is using M-DCT 7 speed correct me if Im wrong.. the responsiveness is much much quicker than the older pre facelift model

It really does, the touch of rasp from the IPE exhaust is especially responsible for that

@@johncreedon1833 it feels like a car that's the size of a M3 with the power of a M5. The brakes are phenomenal. The steering is better on my pre facelift P30 C63.

Wow, awesome, so question , is this model worth the extra $ over say an 2009 if one was to tune it and do headers . Is the gear box that much better? Cheers.

In my opinion I'd try to get a 2011 or better due to the fact that the head bolt is updated. In regards to the gearbox , I don't think it's worth the premium you'd pay for an LCI, however of course the interior is more modernized. In my opinion I'd prefer a pre facelift P30, than a facelift non P31
