In 2013 the Oklahoma Sooners defeated both teams that played for the National Championship in 2012, and isn't it ironic that the play that got things going against Notre Dame is the same one that put Alabama away.
@NeoAguni10 жыл бұрын
***** I think that comparison comes from the fact that it was a fumble score in the last minute. I compare it to ND game because it's the same play an Eric Striker sack which causes a fumble that is returned for a TD.

@bigdsears10 жыл бұрын
Right on man! We miss NU. Go OU and The Horns this year! Finebaum is such a chumpstick. Why would you even say that? I man, Saben is great and all but why put it out there like that knowing the game hasn't been played. Maybe he wants to stay on XM/Serius radio. And now Saben is going to the power that be to try and get the offenses to slow down. What a grandpa move.
@VancouverChokers10 жыл бұрын
bigdsears He has always been Alabama's #1 homer. The ironic thing is he graduated from Tennessee. As far as that 10 second rule. That rule reeks of BS and will not pass. I like the suggestion Malzahn had...table the rule for one year and have a spirited debate about it. You're right it's a PP by Saban to try and get yet one more advantage for Bama. As if he doesn't have enough already. SEC offices in Bammerham, easy schedule every year, got :01 back on the clock in the Iron Bowl, etc.
@macgardner856510 жыл бұрын
bigdsears It didn't work. The NCAA voted Saban down. Even Muschamp said it was a ploy to help Saban compete using the talent he has on hand. Saban is going to have to learn how to play Big Xll football, or he may take some serious drubbings from A&M and Mizzou. I predicted two years ago that A&M would beat Alabama. A&M had Bama down 20-0 midway through the first quarter until Manziel started brain farting. A&M could have beaten Bama by 40 points on that day if they hadn't fallen asleep, but they still won the game. They should have won the game last year as well, when they ran up over 40 points on Bama. I would love to have seen Mizzou have a shot at Alabama last year the way they were running through SEC teams like crap through a goose.
@VancouverChokers10 жыл бұрын
mac gardner I hate Mizzou but...Big Eight, baby. It is no coincidence that a former Big Eight school has been running roughshod through the SEC East over the last year or so.
@macgardner856510 жыл бұрын
AND A&M WAS very close to playing for the National Championship the year before, but Manziel brain farted in the last two minutes against both Florida and LSU and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Both these teams wee middle of the pack Big Xll teams, couldn't win the conferene, but go to the SEC and are kicking butt, shredding SEC defenses just like OU did to Alabama and Tennessee.

MrKg01 All i read from fans of bama was how ou was going to get destroyed and how stoops was going to eat those words he spoke about the SEC. Well thats not how it turned out, and Bama fans are left to their excuses.
@macgardner856510 жыл бұрын
MrKg01 Bulllloney, watch the entire game on You tube and tell me that Bama didn't give 100% the entire game. Joe Namath said it best when he tweeted "We got Beat by a BETTER TEAM" With A&M and Mizzou now in the SEC, Bama had better learn how to play Big Xll football, because both Big Xll teams are lighting up SEC teams with 50 points or more all the time.You can't stop a precision passing attack with 365 lb linemen. Bama's D line was sucking wind by the second quarter vs OU. Saban lost his attempt to slow the game down, and now he's going to have some stiff competition. The SEC is going to HAVE to change styles to stop Mizzou and A&M. They may not win every game, but Bama is no longer going to win every game if they are facing hurry up offenses with great quarterbacks. I predicted two years ago that A&M would beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and A&M had Bama down 20-0 halfway through the first quarter. If Manziel hadn't played sloppy after that, A&M could have won by 40 points.

Wait...whaaaa? Just watched this again for the fiftieth time and just noticed that in Bama's opening drive when Cooper took the pass 52 yards, it was Tapper who caught him from behind. Tap was running past Striker to get to Cooper. Dang! I was already a Tapper fan, but that young man is amazing.

awesome video I love it. Adding it to my favorites. I don't care what Tide fans say Alabama was ready to play. they scored in 3 plays on their first drive, and even Nick Saban even said don't blame it on the lack of focus, we where outplayed.

Was at this game. Worked in the GOM during that time, I purchased my ticket and came in from the rig that day. All I heard was how we OU didn’t stand a chance. I sat on the 48 yard line 15th row Alabama side. Great game. Classy folks.

@brianadams21439 жыл бұрын
I don't under estimate some of the talent FSU had in 13, but bottom line, fsu wouldve been handled by bama! Fsu got lucky because a crazy play in a rivalry game with Auburn. In 2013, Bama wouldve rolled and smoked the seminoles!
@GentlemanJack2959 жыл бұрын
Brian Adams Auburn hung with Bama the entire game and would have beat Bama in OT. They had the momentum. Bama then lost to a freshman QB from OK. Bama was not that good in 2013 and my Noles would have beat them worse than than they beat Auburn. There was no other team on our level. In fact FSU would have beat several Bama teams like "11 and '12.

Third best win ever for Bob Stoops, right behind FSU in the NC game and Nebraska that same year. I remember Mark May predicted Bama 41-7 and everyone else at ESPN predicted a blowout.

A buddy of mine is an ardent Alabama-loving, Sooner-hater. He placed a bet on this game and lost. His punishment was he had to dress up in OU attire, holding a sign that said he was an Alabama fan and bet against the Sooners and lost, and had to stand on the corner of MEMORIAL & PENN, next to QUAIL SPRINGS MALL. Channel-5 KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City even did a short segment on him. Maybe you drove by and saw him and honked at him. He was a great sport about it, and every year since, I send him that picture when he starts his trash talking! 😂😂😂😂 BOOMER SOONER !

Interesting you say that. I was just talking to some alums today about how we're losing that culture. Fans in the stands are watching their cell phones, sitting down, leaving early. The trend is not so good. Thanks for the compliment.

+Mark ONeill That will change when Texas gets out of their slump. It happens to all teams. That culture is alive and well in Norman, Oklahoma. if we were in a slump, I'm not sure it would be that way

I’m actually a fan of both programs but Oklahoma is my home and I was an adjunct instructor there for a few semesters so I desperately wanted them to acquit themselves well and make a good showing of it that night. But after that first Alabama drive I was crestfallen. Then almost as suddenly OU hit back and once again I had the courage to hope they would escape a humiliating defeat. For the rest of the first half it was a slug fest like I’d never seen before. OU had the momentum going into the locker room and, for the first time, I actually believed they had a chance to win. All through the second half I became more and more invested in the outcome until the Sooners finally wrestled Alabama to the ground and took control of the game. I couldn’t believe how hard they fought and how richly Coach Stoops and his underdog players actually deserved to win. It was Sooner magic like I’d never witnessed before and a sports miracle I nearly missed because I placed far too much confidence in the conventional wisdom of the sportscasters. That night I was so proud of the OU football team and so thrilled to have seen such an amazing game.

Tide fan. Congrats Sooners. You guys showed up to play and your QB play was superb and you earned and deserved this win.. But Bama is not going anywhere, it is certainly a testament to your success when a quality program with mostly 10 win seasons is so thrilled to beat you.
