Thanks for the video. I have 2011 that I just got used, so many more years of candy in those rails. It crunches when I slide them. I should be able to get them cleaned up like new following the steps you did. :)

There's a way to take it all off, but you'll have to undo more and I don't have the torque specs for those small pieces that holds the rails.

@@f31roger I'm using an old tooth brush in conjunction with my shop-vac with the crevice tool. I think that will loosen it up and pull it out. The tooth brush fits in without removing more parts.

@@DavidLari yea...so much crap gets down there. After I cleaned it up (which gets dirty because of my kids keep spilling stuff) I think grease is needed to keep it free moving. So don't forget that part bro.

Thanks for taking your time to show in detail the job of cleaning up after your kids Now if they were my kids I would show em a good time and give em a broom and dust pan maybe some mild warm soapy water and then show them a thing or two of how dad likes to have things done and done right. Because you did this instructional video great I loved it and I wish to thank you for your time. I have a 2015 Sienna LE that needs a good cleaning as yours. yes I subscribed you :)

How do you remove the cupholders for the 3rd seat in the second row? I hate it and want to remove it.

How do you remove the "carriages" that the seats set on? I like the Toyota but I sure don't want those things tripping me up when I want transport items in the middle of the van. Are they removable at all?

I have the same question and even asked a Toyota service rep, he asked his mechanic and all i got was that it was not an easy process to remove the carriages. I will buy a Honda if I can't remove them.... I also need a totally flat floor for camping and transporting items. Can anyone do a video on how to remove them? Toyota is of no help. A really stupid design in my opinion.

They are removable. You will have to take the covers on both front and back of the rail, there are nuts there. I contemplated taking these off, but I just didn't feel like taking too much time.

Not that easy. Those nuts are not for fastening the tracks, wont move if you take them out, i thought those tracks were attached to the car body from the bottom, will possibly jack up and loosen them from the bottom.

Hey good job! Do the seats slide easier now that the rail is clean? My middle seats are tough to slide and im wondering if its because all the gunk in there?

Yes, but you have to put white grease or what toyota uses.

How to remove the remaining runners that are still in the tracks? In other words HOW DO YOU GET A FLAT FLOOR! How come nobody will talk about that? Thats a beautiful van, but this is a deal breaker.

There are bolts on the track you can take out. I haven't done it because I didn't need to. If you want a flat floor, I suggest a previa. 3rd gen sienna doesn't feel as comfortable IMO.

Not being able to remove those tracks (as they are bolted from the bottom) is the biggest flaws of Sienna and sadly, it just got worse with 2021 and 2022 models due to addition of air bags. In other words, you can't even remove the seats otherwise your entire warranty is voided. Now you get to appreciate the 35 year old German design of Eurovan. To this day, no one has beat them on sliding 3rd and second rows. Second rows face backwards and you have a built in hideaway tray and cup holder in between.
