Popping experienced on deceleration come from Triumph’s secondary air injection system. What it does is forces fresh air into the exhaust port right before the exhaust gas is evacuated. With fresh air in with it, it heats up and will vaporize/combust and leftover unburnt hydrocarbons, essentially making exhaust a bit cleaner. You can take the ports out and just plug them up, not difficult at all. It’s an alternative for those who don’t have the deep pockets for a Power Commander, re-map & Dyna-tune. 🤙

I have the same bike and the same cocktail shakers and solo seat. Not gone for the air box mod and am running the triumph TOR mod for older Speedmasters as they don't have an up-to-date TOR mod for 2014 Speedmasters. Runs much better after the re-map and far less over-run pop. I've added black tear-drop mirrors and am contemplating getting the cocktail shakers and headers done in black too. Very happy so far though.

Tom Last What kind of black can you have the exhaust done with... I love the look and might want that on my speedmaster but I know nothing about who to have do it and what options there are... I'm a machinist, and I have seen chrome oxide done on shafts for wear resistance, it's a nice rich looking black... I duno though, that may be prohibitively expensive... or not practically doable.

They do sound awesome. I do like the sound but unfortunately here in Australia, they have the EPA or i like to call them the fun police. If they are too loud then we get fined for noise pollution.... Like your mods though
