Still the same camera as yours :) Hope Mbusa supports you, in germany the AMG fleet takes a winter sleep from October till March ( when you need snow tires by law here ). 991.2 will take a while. The big press drives them at the end of the year and I won't get a go until spring it seems :)

Good review... Once people finish watching this, they should re-watch Guido's review of the C63 507 and they will see how much better the W204 was compared to the new model. The more aggressive looks, the hard revving and much better sounding M156 and overall character of the car cannot be beat... some of this seems to have been lost in the W205 update. But of course, I totally understand that AMG has to keep up with the competition and emissions regulations in order to sell their cars, but the W204 C63 will go down in history as the finest German muscle car ever to come from Affalterbach !

+Murat Harman I disagree, this new C63 hasnt a lost its tail happy character, but now you can also use it in a more precise way. The new engine really surprised me (and pretty much every car enthusiast) because even thought it is turbo charged, it still sounds amazing and doesnt feel much like it's turbocharged. It now looks much more subtle, which I personnally love, as I'm a big fan of sleepers in general. All in all, even though I love the W204, this new one is just a big step up.

Great review by the way! Love watching your videos. The sound of this C63s is simply astounding!! It sounds like the 6.2 and I love the downshifts! So exciting to see that AMG has got it spot on again! The only thing critical about the car, is the body shape: it looks nice but not as good as the previous model to me. It does not look mean enough....

Hi Guido! Klasse Review. Bild, Ton, Aufmachung: alles 1A :) der Sound ist alles in allem wirklich sehr gelungen, immerhin ist es ein Biturbo Motor mit relativ wenig Hubraum. Allerdings muss ich doch sagen, dass er deshalb meiner Meinung nach lange nicht an den M156 (6.2 Liter Sauger) rankommt. Der hat eine derartige Finesse im Klangbild, feinsten V8-Bass bei niedrigen Drehzahlen und ein sonores Hämmern beim Ausdrehen, da kommt so schnell nichts anderes heran. Natürlich hat AMG eine klasse Job gemacht und das stellst du auch absolut richtig heraus :) und schön zu sehen, dass du unseren Supertest gelesen hast (530 PS) :) Gruß und weiter so - André

+TheGetawayer They sure are great Autobahn monsters. But what also put me off the C63 was the interior. It looks wonderful but the feel of some of the parts is not on the Mercedes level I'm used to. For example that push-in to open center console cover. The push-in button just feels cheep. And even the AMG will use these parts in a much more expensive car. Does the engine really run as hot as some reports say? Could it be trackable?

+slaWterCH Okay yeah, I don't like that cover much either, but the rest felt very nice to me. The C250 from last year was even nicer tough. Loved its red leather and the black wood...Yeah, it get very hot, but that has to be expected with those turbos right up under the hood. Yet nothing like the CLA45 I had. But Porsches get very hot too, at least after a spirted drive :)

I think AMG engineers have a soft spot for the C-Class because it's the best platform for them to build a performance sports sedan. I hope they never lose the "German hot rod" attitude towards the C-AMG cars and keep finding ways to kick ass with the stringent emissions regulations. From the C36,43,55,63 and now 63s, all are great cars. Jay Leno once said that he loves the Porsche 911 because of its size. He believes a sports car doesnt need to be bigger than a 911. I feel that a sports sedan doesn't need to be bigger or longer than a C. One thing I don't like in the engine is the appearance of the aluminum looking material beneah the turbochargers. They should of covered that up. Guido- Great job as usual.

The C63 is a wonderful daily and proper hot rod. A real muscle car to me. I feel the same way about the guts of the Turbo being so visable, but I think they really had to do it this way, because of the placement of these two Turbos in the V. Greetings from germany, Guido

Loved the sound that you managed to capture in your review. As I live in an area where the fastest I drive (off-track) is 120-130 km/h, this car would be overkill, but I would love the sound and the rotation you can generate by stepping on the gas when driving on city streets and making right hand turns. Two things annoy me about the design of this C class - with hands at the 9 and 3, my hands touch the chrome around the multi-function steering wheel controls. What's the point of a nice alcantera steering wheel, when you are touching chrome. The centre console is so wide, that it cuts into my leg room, for my right leg.

+goons123flofy Remember I used the most agressive settings here, it's nowhere near as loud in the normal modes and actually decently comfortable. I haven't had the issues you had with the steering wheel or leg room, but I wished I could sit lower and feel more integrated into the car as a driver

I love the car but when my wife had a look at one she said she would feel silly driving round in one, I think its a bit of a looker myself. Iam also not the biggest fan of all these fake pops and bangs you get, not only on the AMG cars but lots of new cars. Great review as always. P.S the steering wheel is a little fat for my taste, may have a different opinion if driving one.

+Second Chance Well, I'm not a fan of the wheels and tires on this car. Mine would be dark grey or black, with different wheels, night package and no badges on the back. You actually do get less attention than with the old one. And of course I provoked those bangs and pops as much as I could for the video. With the exhaust button switched off, the car is totally civiliced. You should have a go in one and tell me how you like it :D

+///AMG Berg The pops and bangs going down the box is what l dislike the most. Its no big deal, it wouldn't stop me buying one but it is fake.As far as the up shift goes. I should think that they will need to reduce torque for the box but the noise and the way in which it does it is fake. There are far more powerful cars past and present that shift up and down with no need to make funny sounds. Still not the end of the world, its just a sign of the playstation generation and the all part of being separated from the machine. And l can tell you what will be next. You will be able to choose different sounds that the exhaust makes, ha, they'll even offer apps to download so one week it will sound like a V8 and then next week maybe a V10.

If you have a listen to some anti-lag, on lets say a rally car. The sound it makes is random firing, not a uniformed pop at the same point spaced a set distance between each pop. Plus mark my words, you will soon either through a app on your phone or just a button in the car be able to change the type of sound, maybe even play your favorite dance beat.

Nice review Guido. I always enjoy hearing your opinions on cars. Personally I'm kind of conflicted about all of this "adjustability" in these cars now, especially when it comes to "ECO" modes which tend to just dull everything down in the car. Why would you ever want sloppy steering?? I'm also question the idea that you can turn the exhaust note "on and off". It just feels like they want to be everything to everybody at any cost. (like that creepy kid in the class who wants to be everybody's friend at any cost. ick ;) ) Anyways, from a historical perspective this car represents the last of the mohicans before the full EVs take over the world.

I said in my review of the last C63 that I liked not having to adjust anything apart from the transmisson. I can't say that I personally love systems like that, but as long as they really work, I'm fine. In the end all companies try to make their cars as versatile as possible nowadays...

The only problem that exists with Mercedes, is that all or most of its cars look identically the same. It's very rare that anyone that's on the road driving could differentiate between any of them. That's why I'm in the market for the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe 550HP V8 instead. There are less vehicles of this kind.

TheGetawayer Well I drove the Jag F-Type R and there's nothing like it... exciting, exhilarating, even frightening at times and the exhaust sounds are deafening. It has the loudest most obnoxious sounding exhaust that I have ever heard.... even better than any AMG vehicle. I drove the Corvette Stingray Z6 and a Mustang Shelby too and still the sound of the Jag is nastier. You could hear me coming a mile away. Drive one and let me know how you feel afterwards...

Hey Guido - really enjoy your excellent videos. I used to have a C63 but, now having a family, have had to downgrade to an E300 Hybrid. However I've definitely gone too far the other way...therefore I'm looking to change next year to the new C450 AMG (not available here in the UK until June next year!). My E300 is a nice enough car - the quality of the E-class is a clear step above the C-class, however the 4 cylinder engine should really be a V6 with the hybrid technology. But as a cruiser, the E-class is superb. Fortunately for a drivers' car, I also have a Caterham Seven, so that ticks the fun box for me. Anyway, keep up the good videos (particularly liked the demonstration of throttle response on your C63 video - things like that are both very useful and informative to potential buyers!). Cheers :-)
