the noise is from air entering the fuel system. the rear water/fuel filter assembly thats located by the tank is notorios for leaking air. usualy at the filter o-ring or drain spout o-ring. plus i believe the low pressure fuel pump lives inside there too. the high pressure fuel pump needs a good source off the low pressure fuel to reach it before it can even start building high psi numbers

Merry Christmas Trevor! Hope you and the family have a good one. Thanks for uploading something to keep me entertained on Christmas, not usually one for all this truck stuff but I'm rather enjoying this. Being from Scotland we don't really have a truck scene in the U.K, there's a dude with a brand new F150 (I think) near where I live and it completely dwarves everything around it.

Oh man. You'd be in complete awe here in the United States with the trucks. Especially in somewhat rural areas its not uncommon to see F250s and F350s dozens of times daily. They're all over. And they make F150's look like dwarfs of a truck. The size of an F250 really is unreal, I love it lol. Coming from a proud owner of an '03 F350 :D

I sent you an email. The problem you have is that the truck doesnt recognize the fuel injectors. Ford 6.7 injectors have a serial number etched onto them, you need to pull the injectors for each cylinder, write down that serial number and the cylinder number, Do that for each injector. You will need someone with Fords IDS Diagnostic tool to hook it up to the truck and go to the section where the injector serial numbers are located and take out the old injector serial numbers and enter the ones you wrote down and what cylinder they correspond to and they need to enter that into IDS and update the trucks computer. Even if you tried to use the old injectors, you still have one damaged injector that would need to replaced and that serial number would have to be programmed in and once again that needs to be done thru Fords IDS diagnostic tool. After You get the injector serial numbers and entered into the corresponding cylinder location in IDS entered in and the trucks computer is updated make sure you get any air out of the fuel system and then start the truck. Hope that helps you

I have an idea hopefully this helps. I work on big rig tractor trailers (18 wheelers) for a living and I run into that same issue. the computer might not throw a code for it but the low-volume electric fuel lift pump will either short out or just stop completely and it won't pump fuel from tank to the high pressure fuel pump and you get a no start issue with shitty rail pressure I would check that electric fuel lift pump it may be shot. It may also be that noise your hearing hope that helps. Have a Merry Christmas dude hope you and your family have a great holiday.

I agree with wrench life 604, I have the 2011 and had a similar problem, mine was the fuel separator canister located on your frame rail under the cab driver door side, when I did my service it wasn’t tight enough. Heard the same noise and no codes no start. Also heard of those plastic canister splitting at the top if you over tighten causing that air leak

Deboss Garage says that nothing beats the 12v cummins for simplicity and reliability. They were made before all this emissions crap and they have no computers so if they aren't running it's because they aren't getting fuel simple as that. He says all the electronics on the new ones makes them fail so much more often. I hope you get it going Trevor good luck.

I have a 2013 power stroke and when I usually start up the fuel pump makes one long continuous whine until I go to start it. But if i change my fuel filters, the first time I go to start it I have to cycle it so it can purge air, and when I’m cycling it, it sounds somewhat similar to what yours is doing, so is it pulling air in somewhere? Just a simple suggestion, I’m not pretending to know any better than anyone else here, just my 2 cents

Our New Cummins at Nissan runs the same style High Pressure Fuel Pump. The actuator on the HP Fuel pump may not be opening all of the way to allow supply to enter the high pressure veins. The only other thing can be the Fuel pressure relief valve on the back of the rail. staying open.

You probably won’t see this but if you ran the truck at all without the dpf hooked up or with out any flow through the exhaust before putting the delete tune on it will put the truck into full blown limp mode and some cases not even start.

Before you took off any hard parts, you have to tune it first. Not criticizing you, just trying to help. When you started it up before the tuner was put on, it thought everything was on. The noise was most likely the def injector tryin to inject def in the filter

Been out of the game for a few years now, but when I had my 6.4, I recall tons of warnings about having the delete tune installed before starting the engine. I think it was something about ruining the engine or trans computer? Don't quote me, I'm going off memory. I'm not sure if the 6.7s are similar in that aspect but I'd say starting it deleted without a delete tune was your first mistake.
@jackbobbi4057
@jackbobbi4057 6 жыл бұрын
danhero666 the tune is supposed to be loaded into the truck and not started until the hard parts are removed. Tuning it will turn off all lights related to emission equipment removal. When the parts fell off my truck, i tuned it first, parts fell off, then i started it and had no issues. By starting if after he parts are already off without tuning it, you can do some serious damage to the engine. Not so much the trans because there is no emission equipment related to the trans

Hi , I had a ford transit connect that did exacly the same thing ..the problem is that there is no preasure from high preasure pump...the pump is bad....once it starts and gets a bit of heat on the engine..that high pump works perfect.and starts all day but .when it was cold ..I had no chance to start it .I went to the ford dealership and they said that they dont't know whats the problem they said that there is some air that gets in the sistem and we shoud try to top up the filter with diesel ...last time i used some ethanol spray ..sprayed some in the intercooler hose and after 15 min of stuggle.. it started..now the car is in the service..you should stard by topping out the fuel filter with gas or put an one way filter so that the gas has no turning back in the fuel tank.

Try direct powering the lift pump to see if it will run and supply the high pressure pump enough fuel to start. Also, is the wiring to the ipr etc. Possibly different then the 2011? You are using the 2011 wiring on the 15 engine correct? The injector serial numbers need corrected as well of course. Wonder if the 11 pcm needs to be flashed differently for the 15 engine?

Hmmm sounds normal to me. Just throw more money into it and I'm sure you can fix the problem with the fuel issues... But by the time you have that sorted out something else will come up not working. The 6.0 6.4 and 6.7 and just problems on problems your best bet is to stay completely stock. IMHO the only swap worth doing on that truck is a Cummins swap. And the only real diesel Ford ever put in a truck worth spending any time or money on is the 7.3
