Thank you. It's important for him to know these things and it affords us an opportunity to bond, as well.

Good video. I plan to share with my grandson before we do an oil change

Nice. Video showed the type and amount of oil needed, the location of Drain plug and Screen. I like that you included your son. Good lessons! I would like to mention that oil should be warm when draining and wear hand protection to protect your hands from the used oil.

Nice video, have you ever changed the chain case oil ?

I'm sorry. I can't say that I have. Unfortunately, the boy grew out of that machine pretty quick and upgraded to much larger ones.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD TROUBLE WITH THE SHIFTER LEVER TRYING TO GET IT INTO GEAR? AWESOME VIDEO
@StJC-kl4fi4 жыл бұрын
We have, but it seems to us to be pretty common with the CVTs. My boy rocks the machine a bit and it goes into gear fine.

It looked like you also drained the crankcase oil. What type of oil did you use for that?

Are the d s two fifties the same way
@StJC-kl4fi6 ай бұрын
I can't say for sure, but I believe they are very close. Everything else was very similar. You'll have to double-check. Sorry. We had the 2015 DS250, also, but never did the oil changes on that ourselves.

Is this the same process for a 2020 can am ds 250
@StJC-kl4fi3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry. I can't answer that. I know our 2013 DS250 is very similar, but since doing this machine I haven't had time to do my own work anymore.

0W40, 5W40, 10W40, 15W40, 5W50, 10W50, 15W50, and 20W50 are all acceptable weights for these DS90 ATV's. The manual was revised in 2020 or so and added heavier weight oils (50 weights). My 2017 manual said you could use 5W30, 10W30, 10W40 weight oil, but they revised the manual to use heavier weight oils, without changing the machine, which tells me that they must have had too many blown engines or worn out engines with the previous recommendations of as low as 5W30 weight oil. If you have one of these, find the latest manual and read what the latest oil recommendations are. Just don't use energy conserving oil. There is no wet clutch on these so dont have to be too picky with oil... ANY 40 to 50 weight oil, conventional, blend, or synthetic, car oil, motorcycle oil, ATV oil, they all are fine and work great. I use Mobil 1 15W50 in mine, its cheap at $22 for 5 quarts at wally world, and has good specs. I live in south Florida and its 85-95 degrees most of the year...
