Did these a couple of years back ... was getting hesitation and shuddering accelerating on hills. Plugs hadn't been changed in almost 100,000 miles. Electrodes were worn pretty bad. A few little suggestions. Since it's an aluminum engine, put a little anti-seize on the threads of the plugs. Also doesn't hurt to add a dab of dielectric grease to the boots. Oh - and try to do it on a cold engine. If the engine's hot, you can over-tighten the plugs and/or run the risk of stripping the threads. Nobody wants that repair bill. The 2.4 Journey is one of THE easiest spark plug jobs you'll ever do. Cheap and easy maintenance. I should actually do mine again before winter sets in ...

Thanks for the upload. Nothing too weird here. I have a 2017 journey and my manual has the spark change at 30,000 miles, maybe because they used the cheaper copper plugs. Also the recommended air filter change is 50,000. To me that is too long, I change every 20,000 or less. Update I did not have to disconnect the wire from the coil for cylinders 1,2,3. I did have to remove the wire for number 4 as the wire led underneath the fuel line. Maybe my wire harness was a little longer. It appears the plugs that originally came with the Journey are cheaper copper. Now I know why they wanted me to change the plugs after 30k miles, if you replaced your plugs the ones that came with the car I suggest you replace them after 30k miles. I replaced my plugs with the double platinum. I will see how they perform.

@covercalls883 жыл бұрын
@@ricardoperez8879 I did not notice any real differences except a slight mileage improvement of maybe .2 miles per gallon over the copper plugs when new. I would recommend platinum plugs just because they will last longer.

Just wondering if you ever looked at noise at th efront end. The struts and links were replaced along with the sway bar bushings. however the same noise is observed. The Journey is still under extended warrantyy so I am still trying to locate the issue. On the front passenger i hear a phooshsh when i go over a speed bump or a driveway curb. I also replaced the rotors and pads with good quality after market Brembo products. However I hav ebeen told that sometimes after market brake parts will be noisy over bumps this was the case with my 2007 Dodge Magnum. Any ideas this week I am going to a warranty service centre and we are looking underneath at motor mount actually near the sides and on top for the Journey an t ranmission mounts and we will also use a pry bar to see if anything is moving as we pry.
