Very well done video MotoMan! It sounds much better than I expected and the boost gauge with the touch controls is so cool! Very informative video! Congrats on getting the Ferrari! That's huge! As for your question at the end, my top pick for a hardtop GT car would be the F12. As for convertibles, it would be a tie between this and the Vanquish Volante for me. The Vanquish just oozes classy and the V12 sound is unbeatable. As for taxes, if I was wealthy enough to buy one of these I don't think taxes would even be a consideration haha.

Another great episode MotoMan. Naturally aspirated V8 all the way for mine. That ferocious sound and lack of turbo lag only a naturally aspirated engine can deliver. From Australia so no engine tax here. What is a massive problem is the sale price of cars due to luxury tax. Pay more or less double what the US sells exotics for.

Great review, heard a few things I haven't heard before in other reviews, so thumbs up for that. Having said that, I am very impressed with the technology of the car, but still find it hard to love the car because of its looks. I don't dislike it, but there are quite a few cars around that look way better and, when you're shopping in this category, that matters most. I'd go for an Aston DB9 myself, probably. Maybe even consider a top of the range Jag F-type.

Honestly, the type of engine wouldn't be the deciding factor if I were looking at an exotic GT car. First and foremost would be the actual dynamics, second would be how it sounded, and third would be styling. Tax wise, I live in the US so there is the gas guzzler tax to think about it, but if I could afford a Ferrari it probably wouldn't be too much of a concern for me.

jonathan castro if you love them, what does it matter?
@MotoManTV9 жыл бұрын
jonathan castro Hi Jonathan. We pick the subject cars on the show based on a lot of factors. Yes, there is a function of what I would like to drive and what I find interesting. However, there is a very big part of that is based on timeliness (meaning when the car debuts) and trending data. Yes, you see a lot of cars like this Ferrari or Aston Martins on this show. They are timeless and will grow views over time. For cars like Scions, we would need to shoot them only at their debut in order to make the investment in shooting the film worthwhile for us. As such, there are no real plans for a Scion at this point but as we seen new models introduced, that may change.

If I could choose any engine in my Fantasy GT, I'd have a naturally aspriated V12 hybrid combo. Why? On one hand you got the sound and feel of a real V12. On the other hand, your emissions and consumption drop incredibly (less taxes), due to E-power, which also flatens the torque curve for constant power :D I live in Switzerland, where they tax your CO2 emissions and fuel is expensive.
@valisechi24929 жыл бұрын
I guess I would choose the vanquish for design and interior quality even though it is not so technically advanced. I live in Romania and here you pay 2 taxes: nr1 when you register the car and that is based on displacement, co2 and pollution norm, but it's not that high, for a California it would les than 1k usd. No2 is a yearly tax based on displacement and everything over 3000cmc is quite expensive. For the California it would be around 1.5k usd/year

1. Jaguar F-Type R Convertible. 2. It's prettier, lack of the fat boot for a hard top, the V8 sounds like a real V8, not like two 4-cylinders bolted together (that's what Ferrari's V8 are basically) & costs way less. 3. Germany: taxed by displacement and emission. Speaking of F-Type: what about a proper MMTV-review of the "Jack-war"? :)

I agree, the traditional quad pipes are much better then the stacked one .... They were awful & reminded me of the Lexus IS-F (not in a good way) My choice ... This is a really tough one, I think I'll go with the Ferrari FF (its my favorite Ferrari) ... If that doesn't count... Might go with an Aston Martin Vanquish Volanté by Q ..... Orrrrrr nevermind ;) Here in Saudi Arabia, we don't have Taxes at all :) but we do have a One Time import fee ... 5% of the Car's value... Included in the sticker price ... The dealer handles everything... Even the Registration process (you pay $80 for it though) & you pick the car ready to go ... Plates & everything set. (they can't legally give you the car without registration\plates ... Unless you are exporting it & the proper documents for it) same thing if you are importing a car yourself, But you deal with the customs your self ... Or hire someone to do it 5% of the car's value & the $80 plate fees ... The catch is, according to the law ... The car you are importing can't be older than 5 years old .... Which shattered my hopes of importing a German-Spec'd BMW 7-series ... GDM BMWs & Mercedeses are the best ones (my father had 4 of em) of course, the car have to pass an evaluation test ... To make sure its safe. I'm curious, how much someone would pay in Displacement Taxes on a Viper in China. as always. Excellent video M!

In my country, Colombia, we pai taxes for everything, at the end of the year, you end up paying close to the 10% of the value of your care, however, in terms of assurance, it depends on the engine, the last time i heard about a california in my country it was bought somewhere around 500k dollars. big moeny for a california... the i8 is arround 300k dollars. I'd rather have a continental v8s cabriolet in terms of a big gt cruiser.

this is a rich person toy. Not as an insult to rich people, but the amount their ass is kissed matters more to them then driving. Aka a soft mushy ferrari, with pretty looks, pretty sounds, and pretty much a tightened up bmw/merc on the inside. I get it.. there's a reason rich people buy way more of these than the equiv. Aston. Astons are kid cars that cost rich people money.. they're far too sporty in suspension and have more snap in the engine (as in harder to drive since they don't torque limit low gears, etc)- they're everything a kid would want in a car

Originally from Europe but currently live in Alabama, guess what... I don't even know what the taxes mean regarding size of engines.:-) We pay certain percantage of your new vehicle according to a county you live in. The main aspect is a price of that vehicle not size of a engine. Just wonder what have the liberals in California & Europe accomplished by increasing taxes on vehicles with bigger engines? Btw, do you know why European countries keep gas prices that high? Because they are run by big liberal governments and they can't afford to pay their bills. That's why for example Czech Republic has to use the tax money from gas and use them for social security otherwise the system would bankrupt.
@Grievance_Studies_Affair_20189 жыл бұрын
+Jan Bartos Hello brother :D I'm from your neighbourhood (Slovakia). The tax based on the price of the new vehicle sounds good. I'm currently living in the UK and road tax is based on CO2 emissions. That's completely retarded. If there would be some ecological tax, then I would understand it, but what has using of the road to do with CO2 emissions? Moreover, diesel cars produce less CO2 which is non-toxic, actually the same gas that comes out of our lungs, but on the other hand, diesels produce more oxides of nitrogen which are toxic. It seems like retarded bureaucrats only care about CO2. That's why we have a billion of smelling and toxic diesels and we pay more for petrol cars as they have higher CO2 emissions.
