I expect mileage will be higher with the new 10-speed - truck in the video has the 6-speed. Also, I see you have a locking rear differential. I'm guessing with the mileage you're getting it's at least a 3.55:1 or maybe 3.73:1. Mileage would be better with the 3.31 with exact same driving habits. Thanks for the review!!

Nice real life vídeo! 3 years later do you still recommend this 2.7L engine? I'm considering F150 Ecoboost. I did lot of research and it seems this engine has not many complaints at low mileage like yours 3 years ago.

Great Review and very nice looking truck! What kind of Oil are you using, and what does Ford recommend for the frequency of changing the oil on your 2.7 ecoboost?

Roger Salazar Jr Hello! I service my truck at Ford and ask for the The Works, it's around $40 plus tax and they use a synthetic blend. Intervals are every 5K miles and air filter every 30K miles. Thanks and take care!

I'm looking to buy one in the next few months, I initially only looked at supercrews but your video has got me looking at supercabs. How does it drive, is it quiet and solid feeling? I drive a lot for work and will probably be putting on the same 22k/year

L Kumar Hello! I really like the versatility of having the larger bed and still being able to fit five adults in the back. I also use my truck for work and use the bed more frequently than the back seats, so for my the larger bed was very important. My wife has a '13 SuperCrew and the back section is almost too large and the bed a foot shot, so when we need to carry something large we always end up using mine. I think the SuperCab looks much sportier and more like a truck than does the SuperCrew, but to each their own, it's all about what you need and like. Now, from the '15 and on, with the aluminum body are amazing, much lighter, agile, and improved about 2-3 MPG in comparison to the last generation. You should rent one for a day and see what they are like, that's how I fell in love with the F-150, when I drove my dad's and a few days later I traded my SUV for one. This is by far the best truck in the market and won't regret it. Wait for Truck Month and Ford drops like $8-10K from the MSRP. Best of luck man!!

Wonder what's going to be different with he 18 2.7 trucks compared to the 15-17 2.7s. Shoukd I wait to get an 18 2.7 or settle with the 17s.

CJB CJB Hello! Last I heard was that it was basically the same engine but with some fine tuning for better performance and efficiency. I guess the questions is if a few hp/torque is worth the extra cash. You could probably get a '17 at the end of the year or beginning of '18 with some substantial discounts.

Thanks man. Wonder other than engine, what other features will be different/better. Im unfortunately one who like all the fancy gadgets and everything, which I k ow can be a bit of a waste. Lol.

CJB CJB Mine's fully loaded man, of course, the new ones always come with nicer newer gadgets. Check out the '18 around September/October to see the difference and see if it's worth it. Happy buying!!
