Wiley, I am not a great Catamaran lover, because quite frankly they scare the s**te out of me. Give me a 120 Nordhavn any day of the week. BUT I just love your presentations, and you just get my Sailing juices going.....and then the video finishes and back to earth....If you are disabled you're never going to do a Cat. Thanks for this and all your presentations, there are many who could learn from you. Thanks.

I do love the layout. I'll leave my comments for the styling for another time, but the layout is great!

Hm, engine compartments on cats seem poorly insulated. How’s the noice level when motoring or using the genset?

I wish you'd do a walk through on that 45S in Puerto Rico Wiley??

Really enjoy your walkarounds. Can tell you know what's in you prospective buyers mind and go right to it while being a giver of compact accurate information. Would like a price guide at the end of your videos if possible. Thanks Wiley Frank

Great video! Boat is beautiful - but can you provide any additional details on the "damage" referenced in the spec sheet? Hate to take on ongoing problems!

Great boat, about 2-3 years from buying but starting to get a good idea what I can get for what price, Now just need to get on some boats over the next 2 years to figure out what I really want for a blue water boat

Great stuff Wiley. What are the differences between the standard Helia 44 and Helia 44 Evolution?

Wiley, wish I knew you were coming out here. We would have taken you to lunch to pick your brain and get some information. Please let us know if you are ever back to the Texas coast.

The Volvo D2-55 is probably one of the best marine engines on the market, simple and bullet proof. Nice walk around. Noticed the coolant recovery tanks were at "low tide" :)
@catabroker6 жыл бұрын
the coolant overflow bottles are 'overflow' bottles, the coolant is in the heat exchangers. This is quite common, and a common misperception
@Chris-fo8wp6 жыл бұрын
There is a "range" on the bottle, the ones I saw were below the bottom range. Also known as expansion tanks.

Love the videos. I cringe when you say pano but I’ll survive. Lol

Wiley Sharp Catamaran Expert love the look around. It’s just the word pano. Maybe throw in a “look around”, “let me show you the visibility”, or “look at the view from here”. I’m being very picky and please know I love the videos. I watch them as soon as you post them.

I thought your walk through would have been better with the curtains open ... I understand why (flare and light/ adjustment issues) and you had a link, but ... and were the portholes/lights openable for ventilation ? ... impossible to tell. I also notice in some smaller cats the 'escape hatch', employed if the boat capsizes, is left transparent and viewable either under the stairs leading down to the fore/aft cabins or actually in the cabin(s) - such as this boat with the hatch in the owners 'stateroom'. These provide fabulous views under the water and must be awesome spots to watch as, say, dolphins frolic with bow waves when underway As a cat newbie is it a feature customiseable usually ? and therefore the owners choice to have a 'viewing window' aspect ? ... or is it predetermined by engineering and safety concerns as the boat gets bigger, because I rarely see an exposed, uncovered escape hatch in the 55' and over models under their stairs. Or ... is it a feature of charter boats, in particular, to have them covered in order to make the 'landlubbers' less anxious about the realities of their situation (floating in a vast expanse of ocean ) or prevent the drunken fools who charter occasionally playing with them ( there is always one, no ?) .... thoughts ??

Seems like sellers are quite unhappy with the vessel to the point of lawsuits against the dealer and manufacturer... is this common?? Seems like a red flag to me; prob not someone I’d want to do business with.
@nothingtoseaheardammit6 жыл бұрын
Having been involved with boats, boat yards, dealers and the industry as a whole since a child, I can tell you that there are always two sides to every story. While the owner may have legitimate claims against the dealer/builder, he also might be an unreasonable personality. The latter is often the case when dealing with half a million+ $ yachts in my experience.

$534,000, but has some minor issues [like most boats]. Not sure if it has sold or not. The owner filed a lawsuit against the seller and manufacturer. Interesting.

Wiley Sharp Catamaran Expert feeling the boat fall into the groove while trapped out upwind is a religious experience.
