I am impressed with the quality of that bike. I have a 2012 one, and I love it. I changed the pedals, put continental 25m tires, put mud guards, changed the chain and cassette, (because of use), and I am waiting to recieve my Selle Italia man gel flow saddle that I got from "Wiggle" $69.00. The giant seat was not bad for 10 or 15 miles, but I just started doing 50 mile trips and I needed a better saddle. Great bike for the price...great bike period!

Just bought the matte gray version about a week ago or so,and must say I am absolutely in love with the bike.like seriously if I could marry it I would amazing bike 👍👌.and for a heck of a price,$350 $370 in total.was debating on getting this or a road bike but for the price can't argue.and believe me this sucker is stupid fast.just 2 quick pedals and you're off.been using it to go every.been checking the distance of places I gotta go just to get a quick ride.would recommend it to anyone,great bike.if you're debating on getting a bike this is not a bad choice at all.

I believe the lower frame bars are splayed out to fit a rear rack and side bags. Gives extra room so they don't strike the rear wheel.

I have a 2013 Escape City. After riding it for one full year I can say without a doubt it is a solid commuter. Haven't had a single problem even after it got dinged by a car! No flat tire and probably never will judging by how solid the tires are. I'm tempted to ditch my multi-tool and the CO2 capsule altogether to save some weight cos it looks like I'll never need them. About 31lb stock with fenders and rack. On 20km+ rides, I wish I have a lighter bike. Climb hills just fine. Ok on gravel. Stock riding position is too upright for my liking but it was an easy fix to flip the stem upside down. All in all, I'm happier about this bike than I thought I would be. It was worth the $500.

Nice man! Just called my local pro bike shop and they recommended this bike to me so will be going in to take a look at it, possibly purchasing it! Not sure if I should get a Hybrid or Road bike, with the Road bike was always getting flats.

I have one of this, too. Upgrade the wheels and handle bar. The original steel handle bar is very heavy. An aluminum one will make the difference.

This is a very good bike for the kind of riding you like to do and the are in which you live. If you were going to ride on roads more or for longer rides with hills, you would want a bike that's a bit faster with better drive train. But for how and where you ride, this is a great bike.

Can someone help me out? i cant decide between this one and the trek 7.1 fx. this will be my first bike, hence why the budget. i do want a bit more speed and control, comfort is not that big of a deal to me(i wanted to get a road bike but my city road is pretty bad)

And to answer the question about the crooked chainstay on your 2015 model, I'm 99% sure they designed it that way to have less vibration transferring up to your butt. Look at chainstay on the Giant Revolt. Same principle.

the vid from giant claims that the "splayed" arms on the wheel contribute to a more stable ride and better handling of rough road conditions. whether this is true or not, I don't know. You could definitely shed some light on that
