You gotta keep the maintenance time and costs in mind too. German cars...they’re in the shop a lot and parts are crazy expensive. This Q50 drivetrain is tried and true. It would have my vote. Compare an Infiniti Q50 V6 328 h.p. sport rear wheel drive 7 speed auto @ 0-60 in 4.9 seconds to the new Hyundai Genesis V8...420 h.p. rear wheel drive 8 speed auto @ 0- 60 in 5.3 seconds. How is that ? Genesis is a large heavy car sedan and no rev- match transmission even with a V8 engine it needs more torque to offset the new design and added weight.

Having owned a 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE before, I never encountered problems with that either. Nissan Motors build reliable cars. I love to select sport mode and rev this beauty to 7.500 RPM... What a great cruiser.. This car is fast, comfortable, great interior and a superb 14 speaker BOSE sound system. I recommend this car.

I use to own a G35 coupe and I love it. It is a very fun sport coupe to drive and it is very reliable. When it first came out the G35 coupe has a oil consumption problem but Infiniti did a recall and fix the problem. I really hate how Infiniti hire that guy from Audi and he have Infiniti change the name for G35/37 sedan to the Q50 and G35/37 coupe to the Q60. It is retarded. If it not broken don't fix. I think he was with Infiniti for less then a hire and Cadillac pick him up and now he working with GM instead of Infiniti.

I have a 2015 Q50 S, and this is my 3rd Infiniti, but the most problematic one!! On 8K miles, the front rotors went bad, so the dealer had to surface them and replace the pads (covered by warranty). Then by under 20k miles the rear pads went out!! and the dealer blamed it on the way of driving and didn't cover them. I have 49K miles on it now, and the following have been changed on it. 1. Right catalatic converter at around 45k miles 2. The front ball joints went out, so they replaced the lower arms at 48k miles. 3. The upper screen was changed twice, where it went blank every now and then. 4. The driver lumbar pump was replaced. 5. Lower screen was replaced due to electrical issues. I've owned a 2008 G35 S, and a 2013 G37 S before and none of them had any issues. Has anyone had such problems with their Q50?

I find personally the regular Q50 a rather run off the mill sport sedan. The 3.7 isn't much to write home about & the chassis isn't up to par against rivals like IS350 or ATS. The Direct Adaptive Steering is rather very counter-intuitive in a segment where driving feel matters. ALOT. However I'm drawn to the Q50 Hybrid. DAS isn't so much of a hindrance here (because I can't see how a ~4000lb car can steer well) and the idea of a sports sedan with 360hp while capable of 30MPG is intriguing. Not as driver focused but the fuel savings & performance rewards are tempting as well as offset the $5000 premium.

God damn, that freaking 3.7 V6 engine has less technology than a toilet and is older than the bible...when will Nissan start to develop some new engines...what an insult
@tuolumne910 жыл бұрын
Jaymom has no idea what he's talking about. The reason they were slow to jump on the bandwagon as he calls it is because they were simply behind. R&D investment takes years to bear fruit, and the Germans were there first, fair and square. Turbocharging - it's difficult for Toyota b/c VWAG and Ford own post of the patents. Dual clutch transmissions - again! major investment that they didn't believe would yield immediate financial benefit. As a result, VWAG is years ahead, as they are in a modular chassis platform. The talking points Jaymom is using are insultingly hollow as they are ignorant. Hard to take somebody like that seriously...
@CarsFanTV10 жыл бұрын
jaymum23 I think its an insult for a brand like this to launch a new car with an engine with no technology whatsoever (being in 2014)..that means this car wont be significally changed in what, 2 - 4 years? All the top brand are putting FI technologies to their insignia cars, even ferraris. They all ve had time to develop some reliable good powerplants, time is no excuse...maybe those VQ engines won loads of awards in 2008...but cmon, 6 years later doing the same thing? If you are paying for a premium car like infiniti...you expect the best, or at least i do

@shobin058 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about quality in terms of materials used in the cabin then you might have a point, however if you are talking about quality in general, I'm going to put my money on the Nissan lasting way longer than any of its three german rivals.
@talkditingsdem57998 жыл бұрын
+Shobin Drogan I am talking about quality in general as far as the overall build of Nissan cars...first of all the 3 german cars i mention is so much advance in build quality, technology ect. Nissan been playing catch up since the company came out...as far as reliability every car has there issues but Nissan is a cheap build from the factory so there are way more things that can go wrong with the 3 cars i mention because they are way more sophisticated than a Nissan if that make sense to you. Thats like saying a regular bicycle is more reliable than a motor bike...theres more going on with the motor bike than there is with the regular bike but which one would people rather have? a motor bike for obvious reasons...same as people that rather pay for what goes wrong with a German car than settle for a cheap build car...you get what you pay for and rather have an Audi s8 than a q50 for obvious reasons which means i rather deal with any problem that comes with owning one also.
@shobin058 жыл бұрын
Kevin Smith In what sense are they more sophisticated? Please list it. Also comparing an S8 to a q50? WTF? They are not even in the same planet in price.
@talkditingsdem57998 жыл бұрын
+Shobin Drogan Nissan are not rivals to Bmw Audi's or Mercedes no matter how many times they try to compare them...infinities are more rivals to Lexus Acura Hyundai maybe Kia now...ok a q50s is in the same class as Audi S5? Bmw M3? Mercedes C63? because all 3 of them blow a q50 away...not even mention a rs5...infiniti have the q70 and its in the same class as an Audi a8...Bmw 750li and Mercedes s550...if i mention Audi s8 Bmw B7 and Mercedes s65 its NO COMPETITION no way you look at it so how is Infiniti rivals to the 3 German brands? Nissan have nothing to compete with them...i didnt mention the rs7 m5 m6 m4 e63 s63 r8 i can go on and on
@shobin058 жыл бұрын
Kevin Smith Dude...sigh...A base M3 costs 2x more than a Q50, same goes to the C63 and the S5, also an S5 is the 2 door, I think you mean the S5 sportback. The Q50 is priced the same as an entry level 3 series, entry level C class and A4. Q70 is competing with the 5 series, the BASE 5 series, the normal 5 series, not M5s. You are comparing apples and oranges here. Every single german car you listed costs at a minimum of 2x-3x more and R8? Come on...lol seriously?
