Beater sounds terrible ... I’ve had my 2015 Limited Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo since Aug 2015. I’m under 46000 miles as of now 9/23/20, and LOVE it! No problems whatsoever! Previously, I had (my son still has it) a new 2008 Jeep Laredo. That one had issues with the windows falling, but once I replaced all 4 windows mechanisms, getting rid of the Mopar parts, I never had a problem again. The AC went out at about the 7 year mark, had to have it fixed, but that’s understandable. LOVE my Jeeps!

I too live in MN and I liked how you said it's a hit or miss of a good Grand Cherokee or a bad one, I think that goes to any car TBH, but I honestly was thinking of grabbing one too as a new beater. Life is too short to always own a Toyota or Honda 🤣.

I've had my '15 GC Altitude for 3 years now and it's ran flawlessly. Regular oil changes and brake pads is it. I absolutely love these Jeeps. I have the 3.6 motor and 80k miles right now btw.

I wish i had the v8 would make the thing a bit more fun. Been running like a champ?

Nice..! Okay 4Runner it is. Love the look of it though. If you don’t have extra money to pour into warranty and all that I guess get this. Or use all that money you saved to go on adventures on your 4Runner

I own one because of the rear wheel drive, non turbo engine, digital dash and size. Not a seven seater. Have had no problems in 5.5 years. Still like it a lot!

Now what did you pay for it? And when?
@mntwofiveohh37872 жыл бұрын
30k in 2017. It was two years old when i got it

Would you still recommend this vehicle now?

Honestly, no. Interior comforts are great but the mechanical issues are over whelming.

What kind of mechanical problems have you had with it?

Makayla & Jared Pierce same question here, looking into buying the 2015 grand Cherokee altitude, so I’d love to know all about it!

2 wheel bearings, a rack and pinion, lifter, a couple injectors. Been pretty rough for how new it is.
@mntwofiveohh37874 жыл бұрын
I would not. If you have a warranty for the whole time then maybe. It is a super nice and comfortable suv

Is petrol3.6 more reliable than diesel one..?
@mntwofiveohh37874 жыл бұрын
I have not had an opportunity to test the diesel one. Doesnt seem to be a popular option in the United states

You can drive a $500 car from Montana to arizona. You darn well better be able to drive a 4yr old grand cherokee wherever, whenever

Ya you would think. She has had lots of problems. Probably just have a lemon
@tyrellnez474 жыл бұрын
Do you think a 2017 model would still have the same issues as 2015 model?
@mntwofiveohh37874 жыл бұрын
The v6 grand cherokees have remained largely unchanged since the last body style. I hear that you either get a good one or a nightmare. Since my last video i have also needed a rack and pinion, and another wheel bearing

I see! I have the opportunity to get a used 2017 Overland with 40k miles on it. But I'm second guessing it now with all the problems I hear about it.

Get the 5.7L V8 Hemi from what my research, and personal experience with that engine in RAM 1500s, is suggesting, they're way more reliable. Chrysler can't make V6 engines I guess. but that 5.7L Hemi was at 260k with just regular maintenance and not really big ticket items outside of the service schedule
@iancassidy95484 жыл бұрын
and, if you have the electrical issues with the TIPM that causes stalling, seems like theres a fix: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpS5ZqJ3e5abg5I I'm looking into V8 Summit/Overlands myself. Really great package, very good looking, and the used market is really promising but the V6 just isn't all that reliable. definitely shoot for the hemi

How is the backseat space? Currently have a super cramped ford escape and I was hoping the Cherokee has ample backspace for my 1 yr old going forward. Also is the gas mileage good?
@mntwofiveohh37873 жыл бұрын
It has great space in the rear seats for even adults. My average mileage is arounf 17-20 mpg. My commute to work is mostly freeway though. Driving around town is between 15 and 17 mpg On my way to arizona i hit 24 mpg. The one downside of the space is no third row. The durango would be a great option for a third row. The grand cherokee looks way better in my opinion.

I live in Southern California, If you could give me an insight on what warranty you had that you only had to pay $100 for the services that’d be great! Please let me know!
@braxtonking18644 жыл бұрын
Did you find one ?
@jorgediaz704 жыл бұрын
@@braxtonking1864 I did! I have a 2017 Grand Cherokee Laredo with 42k now it’s at 45k! I’m scared something will give out soon so I barely push the engine at all 😭
@mntwofiveohh37874 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is to feed it good fuel. That should help the injectors.
