Thanks for your reviews, Mike. I've seen some of your other Wrangler reviews and I'm going to be buying a Wrangler Unlimited Sport, most by the end of the week. Ended up going with the basic package plus a few extras... So manual windows, locks, mirrors, etc. Nothing fancy, but exactly what I want.

I got a 2013 last summer (2014) also sport for about the same price and used but only 9k miles on it. Still like new. This is a good deal but it's tougher to get approved for a New vehicle and current year model. Unless you got perfect credit.

Thick door weatherstrips? LOL, not even close to the real reason. Unlimited was a stretched wrangler, then a 4 door? eh? I do like you take time to cover quite a bit. Wait for the new Wrangler later this year.

Sure Mike. Most all modern cars have at minimum two door seals, many have three. Usually this is done for reducing wind noise. The Wrangler, being very 'old school' in it's design, has only one perimeter door weatherstrip. It has to be thick to manage a decent seal. Is water penetration a secondary hope of that seal, sure. It's only thick to take up all the slop in the door opening due to its inherent design nature. I'm not bashing it by any means, I love 'em!
