Hey Logan, nice video. I also have a GLI which I love and I wanted to add a simple stripe on the sides and really liked how yours came out so I was wondering if you could give a little tutorial of how you did yours. The red stripes is one of the best things, I think they came out great!

A see a lot of people are not convinced that the dv+ fits on the gen3 2014 and later model because there is not space I want to say it fits no problem I just installed on my 2014 jetta gli the gfb dv+ Without removing the turbo....the 3rd screw was a nightmare if you don't use a 1/4 mini wrench and bit is really hard to remove .....it can be done it takes a lot of patience....some experience on working on cars is needed I m an auto technician and I can say This installation wasn't easy.
@sukh5277 жыл бұрын
do you happen to have pictures showing the clearance? if I'm going to do a DV upgrade i'd rather it be the DV+ since I had the same on my old GTI with the gen 1 2.0T
@TheAldo327 жыл бұрын
I have the pictures but I also I have problem to post it...I'll try later
@TheAldo327 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I m having trouble to load the photo in here, it isn't a easy job you have to play with your hands and fingers..it fits no problem...the only difficult part is the 3rd screw behind I bent a 1/4 little wrench to get more angle and a taped the tork bit on it. The get the valve in just compress and hold in place the piston of the dv+ and put it in place with the diverter valve..there is enough space to go in no problem.
@sukh5277 жыл бұрын
awesome, I really appreciate the input. Nice to know it'll fit with some tinkering and I was mainly concerned about clearance. Thanks again!
@mikec64577 жыл бұрын
Idk how you managed to get that dv+ in. My cts bov was tight. I could only imagine how snug that was lol. Did you unbolt your axle from the trans? It made it a lot easier on the two cars I installed the blow off on

Same status, have had an upgrade diverter valve for 6-months, yet to install. Already have APR tune. What helped me put power down better was pendulum mount www.goapr.com/products/pendulum_mount.html Also installed the bigger turbo exhaust line. If going stage 2, also look at low weight crank case pulley from Modded Euros. I'm installing full exhaust in Spring with resonator delete.

I have a 2015 TSI 1.8T (Insurance was too high for the GLI sadly) would that same cold air intake work with it? I'm just bored and have some cash laying around and looking for a project.

Did you have an apr stage 1 tune or any tune with the aftermarket down pipe? Thinking about installing my dp but not sure as I’m not going to get a tune for a few months!
@ljgamble6 жыл бұрын
mario caraveo i ran the downpipe with the stock tune for several months before i got the stage 2 tune Just needs an o2spacer on the second sensor on factory tune otherwise it will throw a check engine light and stage 1 probably needs the spacer too since that is tunes for the factory downpipe. But srsly if your planning on a downpipe install dont bother with stage 1 just go to stage 2 its worth it
@macaveli906 жыл бұрын
Logan Gamble thanks for the info and I’m definitely planning on going straight to stage 2 just probably in a couple months

Guess I'll sell my gfb dv+. Because I don't got 6 hours and patience for such a little upgrade. No way I'm moving my turbo either dam idk. Guess I'll just put in dogbone insert and rear anti roll bar. As for the dv I guess once I finish all other upgrades like suspension and visual mods so it's literally the last thing.

Hi did you get stage 2? Ive heard that our gen3s 2014 and up have very weak turbos and they tend to break easy at stage 2

@@ljgamble thanks... So i dont trust much this car... I already had timing kit, oil pump, new camshaft replaced....so im kind iffy bc ive taken good care of it. Is my daily but id like to have more power since my weekend car is an SRT8. So what mod would you recommend? Just a DP and stage 2? I have a CAI on it thats it. Also catted or catless (i dont like the ricer loud drone) i like quiet or just nice performance sound. I appreciate any advice
@ljgamble3 жыл бұрын
@@Nekroman111 That's crazy you already had to do that much maintenance already, I honestly haven't had to do anything other that oil changes to my car I did have to change the clutch about 2000 miles ago but I was expecting that since it makes so much more torque over stock. If I was going to make a recommendation to you for your next mods would be a catted DP, Stage 2, upgraged dogbone mount and front mount intercooler at the least. I understand wanting to stay quiet but your loosing more power I would recommend magnaflow cat back exhaust like I have or cat back exhaust from 42 draft designs, both are resonated so you will not have any drone trust me you will love the sound. Let me know I you have anymore questions happy to help!

@@ljgamble awesome thanks for the detailed info. Yeah bro i still get EPC light and not throttle response randomly on start ups and have to turn it off and on..so idk anymore. But thats what im thinking if its an easy fix then ill upgrade a bit. If not, then ill go back to BMW i had a 535i before and it was a great car. Might as well go for a 440i and not bother with VW anymore. Hope is nothing major and ill stick it out and upgrade like you said

Willy Sanchez Centeno need to take off the intake to the turbo, loosen the bolts on the side of the turbo so it can rotate backwards some then use a bit driver ratcheting wrench to undo the 3 torx head strews on the DV on top of the turbo then it will come out plan to take all day
