This is what the entire weekend has been leading up to: Owen Turtenwald vs. Seth Manfield for the title of 2015 Magic World Champion. Only one Abzan mage can claim the crown.

+Kerry Teague (Amneoss) You funny guy. Just because there have been worse tournament environments before doesn't mean everything else gets a pass.
@AidenWarren8 жыл бұрын
+Draffut2003 he's probably a yugioh player that thinks standard is same and universal for other card games, I myself know yugioh, but i'm not a fan of it. He just trying to blabber random words to make himself look smart. He don't know that Standard is far from stale and it has rotations and what cards and sets are played in it. I saw him commenting other videos also and he just blabbers.

I was so glad that this wasn't like last year, when it was a 3-0 sweep with one-sided draws. This was very entertaining to watch. :D

Well G2 and 3 made it feel like that was what was going to happen. Glad it didn't, a game 5 always makes the finals feel that much more intense.
@chrischeng29228 жыл бұрын
+ZakanaHachihaCBC Yeah, especially when Ugin got out you can feel the tides of war going back and forth...I just remember last year with Chapin vs Shahar Chapin had literally no answer to Hornet Queens, whereas I guess the good thing about control against control is that Seth and Owen had to anticipate what cards their opponent has and how to respond.
@saltedllama2759 Жыл бұрын
Seth is such an unassuming guy. He never looks confident, makes his moves slowly and with uncertainty, yet he is always soooooo good. It was great to see that, in game 5, both guys got tons of action from a deck that was built on the concept of every card having such an enormous impact.

This match was amazing to watch live at PAX. Everyone was on the edge of their seats in the last game, whispering to each other about lines of play and topdecks. The seats emptied out after the game ended, but during that last game, it was packed.

noob question: what is abzan control deck? aggro? esper mill?
@alexurban18328 жыл бұрын
the first words Abzan and Esper are names of color combinations, the names themselves come from groups in the lore of the game that revolve around those colors. I can't remember what Esper colors are but Abzan is green black and white. Aggro stands for aggressive and means the deck likes to attack and hit and kill things. Control uses "pressure" caused by having better cards then your opponent and not letting things happen and if they do happen, it is usually not to there full effect or value.

Ian Duke refers to the Reid Duke vs Shahar Shenhar match as being last year. It was in 2013. Last year's final was between Shehar Shenhar and Patrick "The Innovator" Chapin. Still-excellent coverage.I agree Jackie looked a bit uncomfortable but I suppose in addition to the fact that she is new to it, it's also partly down to the fact that at the end of the day it's still pretty much a male dominated game (Michelle Detora not withstanding).

+goldennas Actually, the way he shuffles is fine... it's the way he regroups the cards with his titties and fupa that bother the hell out of everyone haha
@goldennas8 жыл бұрын
Zach You know, that's totally what I meant actually! I just phrased it poorly. Lol. I just wonder what possible reason he has to pull his deck into himself like that to regroup...it's so disturbing. Lol.
@Zmann868 жыл бұрын
goldennas I guess that's just the way he got used to doing it. Maybe before he put on like 80 lbs it didn't look so awkward but he's got the double chin going on while he looks down at the table and the regrouping portion of his shuffle just looks awkward as hell.

Im new to the game. Can somebody explain me why Owne also removes his elspeth from the field even though he didnt use it to block? Isn't it still alive? At 57:15
@BetweenTwoFires88 жыл бұрын
you may want to read up on planeswalkers. the short of it is that they arent like creatures. they are closer to another player in the game. that 5 loyalty is essentially her lifepoints. so when seth attacked, he attacked some at owen and some at elspeth and when owen blocked he only blocked the creatures headed at him, not elspeth(bc he couldn't block protector due to its ability)
@TehBananaBread8 жыл бұрын
Michael Dowdy i know how they work, just hard to see sometimes as new player what happens:P
@BetweenTwoFires88 жыл бұрын
+BananaBread absolutely. i mean im only about 2 years in to the game so i definitely understand. the only reason that i said you may want to read up on them is because your comment said "even though he didn't use it to block" and planeswalkers don't have the ability to block. so it was just a statement that you may not fully understand what a planeswalker is capable of doing and what it isn't.
@Kazilic248 жыл бұрын

@kyo777123778 жыл бұрын
That applies only if it's on your side of the board. There can be two nissas if they are on opposite sides of the board same goes for any other legendary.

I play magic casually and yugioh competitively....and I'm kind of confused as to how this is the deck that won worlds. I get there are different formats but I have a friend who literally just bought a bunch of black cards at walmart and made a deck out of them and it's easily able to beat whatever this is...how is this top?
@WhiteVanyo8 жыл бұрын
+Judojugs gaming If you think of it objectively saying "it's easily able to beat whatever this is" makes no sense. This is the world championship deck and if it could be beat by a typical draft deck then at least SOMEONE would've brought that deck to the tournament. Alas they didn't because there is probably something in that black deck that would easily be manipulated by Seth's deck and get (no pun intended due to his Rhino's) Trampled on...
@JudojugsVtuber8 жыл бұрын
***** I just don't get it. I've seen other magic decks that do SO much more than this one. Also this guy's shuffling really bothers me
@WhiteVanyo8 жыл бұрын
+Judojugs gaming A lot of people do that shuffling thing it's keeps you from becoming stagnate keeps you moving. The deck thing I don't know how to prove it to you but these decks specialize in making all of your badass creatures worthless. Especially with 4 thoughtseizes. That's $70 right there but well worth it for $50,000
