2015 Mercedes-Benz S550: POV Test Drive & Review

It was really fun driving around in this S Class. It's definitely more fun to drive than you would think from a full size luxury sedan that weighs more than a Honda Pilot.

The slight throttle lag is because the turbos have to spool up.

It's different from turbo lag. You can tell the actual throttle mapping is tuned softer.

There’s no spare tire because these cars come with run flat tires.

Would you say it’s a good transition from a 2012 range sport

I think the Mercedes will have better technology and smoother ride than the Range, and probably feel more sporty in the corners. But they are both similarly priced Euro luxury vehicles and will probably be similar in terms of ride, maintenance, ownership, etc. I think the Mercedes has a slight edge on the Range Sport if you're okay with it being lower to the ground.
