I see plenty of exotics in Miami costing more than this car, but when I see a SL65 or S65, I think, damn this guy must be wealthy and classy just because this car is so subtle yet such a beast within. And that is why people buy this car imo.

I don't think that is the point of this car, and other cars similiar to this like the 911 Turbo/Turbo S. It's about the exclusiveness of knowing that you have something faster, and more expensive, without being glamourous and a showoff. Only will people with a trained eye recognize the car's exclusivity, just like on the 911 Turbo/S.

Michael Klein I agree, but the Turbo/Turbo S is in a whole other league than this car. This car is just about cruising around and looking good, where as the Turbo can do that, as well as destroy a track.

My wife and I recently purchased a GLA45 AMG. Obviously this car is alot more expensive but it is interesting to note how an AMG product shares some features. On the interior we have the same gear shift knob, AC vent ports and dash gauges. On the exterior the optional wheels on our GLA45 are similar to this car, as well as the exhaust ports and grille.

Such a beautiful car. I see your videos around KZbin when I'm looking at cars, and I have a little feedback. You mostly sound like you're reading features from a brochure, which anyone can do, and the tone of it is really easy to tune out. You might want to consider focusing on only what makes this car unique vs. other cars in its line, and class. Then if you can, try to connect the experience the car provides to everyday slobs like me (viewers), so we feel like we're there. I don't mean to be critical at all, but honestly I tend to skip over your videos because of the "brochure-y" tone in them. Keep working man, you have a good thing going.

G9 Music I'm a huge BMW fan. Only cars I've ever owned, and I've never had a problem with them. That being said, I love these newer generation Mercs as well. Absolutely beautiful car. Downside is, these cars are crazy expensive to fix. Just changing the spark plugs alone will cost you big time since Mercedes engines have two spark plugs for each cylinder which means, on a V12 like this, you're going to have to replace TWENTY FOUR spark plugs. If you're a millionaire with money to burn(which is who this car is aimed at anyway) then go for it. If you just want to LOOK rich, get a BMW or Audi. Much less headaches.

There's a reason most of the cars in this market are mostly leased or bought new and sold before much of the maintenance needs to be done. Example: BMW no longer puts a dipstick in their engines and they make it literally impossible to change your own oil. But hey, most of that is in response to the market. Anyway......

Stunning ride but for $200k+ there are some things just don't cut it. For one, the centre console system is getting out of date. It looks almost identical to the one in the 2013 SLK (with the exception of the gearbox) and the SLK costs four times less. At this price, I would expect MB to have integrated some of the new design and technology from S-Class coupe into the SL. Second, the the differences between this and the SL63 are way too subtle. I wish MB had perhaps made the the front bumper look more aggressive so people will know that this is THE 65 AMG, instead of just the badges on the side and back. Small things like a push button ignition makes a noticeable difference too in terms of being up to date.

I feel like the interior is about to get a refresh, as many Mercedes cars are right now, and it definitely needs it. It is still using Mercedes designs from 2010ish. I believe it will probably be refreshed for 2016 or so.

my friends got the 63. I do have to agree with you about the center console but trust me, i didn't give a damn about it till he stepped on the gas. All i could here is the phenomenal sound coming from the hood. Every time i got in that car it was like the first time. If the 63 is so damn good imagine what riding the 65 would feel like.
