very cool learned how to drive on a 28 model a ford my uncle gave me back in the 60s was 14 that was driving!

Me too. With a very few modifications she can be made in to anything. The most versatile automobile ever made.

are the rears of the cars just 2 of the normal rears working in tandem? or do they turn like a dozer so the different tracks run at different speeds to make turning easier?

the rear wheels are the drivers.. The wheels on the front axle ( in the rear ) are idlers which allow the rear axle to work normally. re

After seeing these I can understand the inspiration for the "Hannibal 8" vehicle in the movie "The Great Race". I was almost expecting to see one of the folks unloading their Model T to be dressed like Professor Fate. :)

Yeah, really this would be an attraction at an antique auto show with the driver and the assistant dressed as Professor Fat and Max.

I haven't seen the special, but I do know that one of the uses for the snowmobile conversion was for mail delivery during snowy weather.

They look like the Snow version of the Car Professor Fate drove in the movie, The Great Race. Starring Jack Lemon as Professor Fate, and Tony Curtiss as The Great Leslie.

This was a kit that you could bay their was also a 4x4 kit and tractor kit and it was a trac layer saw 1in the Willits museum in their bone yard

do these use independent breaking on the rear or strictly the skis for steering?

There are no individual wheel brakes on the rear wheels. Steering is provided strictly by the skis. If the snow is mushy the steering leaves a bit to be desired.

I think a lot depended on what the snowmobile kit was installed on. Some of them were installed on Model As and I think some were installed on AAs.

From what I remember the first Model T's with tracks were sold in 1922 after years of experimenting.

@@Trukluver I have physical/emotional infirmities, and so I am quaky and shaky about driving on snowy roads --- if I paid for your gas plus a few bucks to put me up overnight (I'd have the money to "pay you up-front"; no worries), would you be able to come get me so that I could attend this year's meet? I am in Jonesport, Maine.

The conversion kits for the Model Ts were developed in New Hampshire, USA and apparently never maid it overseas.

In my case ,I tried them. I got so much feedback on the editing software I'm using now that I gave up. I also stopped doing them while I was shooting because I wanted the sounds of the trucks and machines to come through.

I thought I would let you know, I'm trying something new. Instead of starting my videos with a written introduction page, I'm trying out opening them with a video selfie with vocal introduction. My Littleville Snowmobile Drag Race video is the first one I've tried this with. I don't know if this will help but I hope so.

I don't see why not. Might have to build your own skis and dead axle, though. I don't think they make kits for rangers.

They become the only cars that would still run after using the EMP weapon (Electro Magnetic Pulse) , or a strong electromagnetic pulse from the sun (last happened 160 years ago, and should happen again any time now)

My gramps had one or his buddy. I was a curtain climber. U. P .cabin. Had a black bear in a cage and a penny machine for peanuts I fed him fish and frogs too.
