Thanks for the review! I agree with Brian, funny but your disclaimers get you off the hook ; ). I have a 2008 and love it. I got the basic model but with 4WD and four door with the 4.0 V6. The four wheel comes with 4 high for general driving and 4 low which is reserved for situations where you're either really stuck or maybe towing someone out of a ditch - I never use it. I just cleaned out my paperwork in the glovebox and found my original invoice for $18,200 brand new price and that included side step rails and premium wheels. Don't pay for overprice options - I replaced my double din stock radio with a Kenwood touchscreen, the crappy factory tires with a good off road brand. Added a cold air intake and computer reprogrammer for performance tuning. I also bought a factory towing wire harness and towing package. To touch it off I had the front windows tinted to match the rear. I love my truck, it's not something you can haul a lot of wood in or two a large boat but it tows my fiberglass 18' fishing boat just fine. It will smoke the tires from a running start, runs awesome. I recommend this truck. Again, don't get taken on the options - you can do it the way you want for way less.

Great truck just purchased 2015 Nissan frontier Desert Runner...lots of power great on gas....was gonna get a canyon cus I like GMC but less torque n horsepower than a Nissan and much more money....so I choose a Nissan amazing....canyon looks great but not worth paying as much as almost a GMC sierra...

The New Canyon/Colorado actually has more horsepower as they are rated at 305 vs the Frontier 261. The Frontier has a little more torque with it generating 281ft lbs vs the GMC 269 ft lbs. Both trucks make their peak torque at 4000 rpm, but 90% of the Nissans torque is available at 2000rpm. The GMC should make up for the slightly lower torque with it's 6 speed auto vs the 5 speed auto in the Frontier. The Frontier is an older platform, but still highly competitive IMO. It shares it's frame with the Titan. A very good thing. I have owned 5 Nissan trucks with the latest being a 2012 Crew Cab 4.0 with the 6 speed manual. All have been very good.

The climate controls should be the same since 2013. If you get the SV value truck package, SL or Pro4x, you get dual zone climate control. Base SV's, and below get the setup that was in this test truck. Despite the Frontiers age, its still a very good truck, and still makes more torque than the new Colorado. 281 ft lbs vs 269 for the Colorado, and more importantly the Frontier makes 90% of it's available torque at 2,000 RPM.
