Came across your video as my 2015 rogue is having P0300. This is what ive checked so far: - New NGK plugs (older ones didnt look fouled) - New coil packs (old ones tested good too) - Put carb cleaner into fuel rail (hopefully unclog injectors) - Been running seafoam in engine oil and fuel - It sporadically changed between P0302 and P0304 at times but now stuck on P0300 only. - Couldnt see any vaccumm leaks - Compression equal across all cylinders - Exhaust sounds like a diesel. What ive been told is a possibility: - clogged cats - cam phaser issue - cam skipped a tooth I am happy to share a video with you. The VVT was changed a few years ago because one or more had issuss. Kind of at a lost. TIA!

Thank you, Phillip for your previous reply. I did not see how you got this solenoid out in the video. My question is how did you get this middle solenoid out? Looks like you unscrewed it from under the car and removed it from below? or you removed it from the top? if removing underneath is doable, I will copy that by removing the tires, etc.
@PhillipBailey2 жыл бұрын
There is a small 6mm bolt that you must access from below. Once that is remove I used a pair of angled needle nose pliers to twist it and push it down from the top.

Great video. I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue showing up with a 0300 code. Plugs replaced. Ignition Coils good. Compression Good, Wiring harness Good, PVC Valve Changed. It's down to either Bad in injector but I threw a bunch of injector Cleaner at it and even had it cleaned going in through the PCV to spray the inside of the manifold I believe. Multi Random Misfire. Rough Idle, Engine light Comes on yellow for a few days then off again. Back tail brake right hand side light not working and getting a shock sometimes when getting out of the car. It's a coin toss for me. Injector or solenoid... After seeing this I feel it's a bad Solenoid. Please Help. you seem like you know what your talking about.

What codes is it setting? Does data indicate cam timing error?
@dondada1949 Жыл бұрын
Why does my car experience surges when idling? I recently had my ignition coils, spark plugs, and air filter replaced, and I've noticed a slight surging sensation, even though the RPM doesn't fluctuate. No codes

Great video sir! I have a 19 70000 miles running rough and showing 300 code can't find any vacuum leaks and has new plugs! Any thoughts and also I just have a small code reader so I didn't know if codes like the 11 would show on mine. Thanks
@PhillipBailey2 жыл бұрын
Your code reader should report any Pxxxx code if present. Does it support mode 6 data to see misfire counts? It would be beneficial to see which cylinders are actually reporting misfires. You could have a restricted exhaust.

I have Nissan Rogue 2016, same issue and same error code (P0011). I don't think I have the guts to take motor mount off and use the jack to hold the motor. Do you think I can unscrew them under the car instead of on the top like some guy did it for a nissan altima.
@PhillipBailey2 жыл бұрын
There's not much room either way. Also understand it could be a mechanical issue in the engine as well. Good luck.

Hi, I'm having the same issue with my 2015 but mine has a horrible idle, it is rough like it's going to stall but never does. I have replaced both camshaft sensors myself and I am currently in the process of doing the crankshaft sensor. The camshaft replacement made no difference. What are the chances it is actually these solenoids? Scanning shows intake valve timing, bank 1 and the random misfire code. I'm located in Ontario as well and I am trying everything first before taking it to the shop.
@PhillipBailey2 жыл бұрын
The P0011 code is a cam timing error and not usually caused by a cam or crank sensor. Could be the control solenoid, cam phaser, stretched chain. I'd recommend to try changing the solenoid. They often stick. The misfire code is related to cam timing error.
@nathanialmagnaye23462 жыл бұрын
@@PhillipBailey hey thanks for the reply, I am going to still put the crankshaft sensor in (doesn't hurt to be sure) and I have to put it back together anyways. I found out the dealer charges about 180+tax for each VVT sensor. RockAuto shipped to my door is 139 including tax and duties for all 3, granted they are Dorman brand. I'm nervous about doing it myself so I may see how many hours a mechanic would charge to do them. How many hours do you think it would take a shop to do all 3?

Just cause there's no OBD2 codes doesn't mean much. Need to scan with an oe level scan tool, check for misfires, fuel trims etc.

Thanks for this video. I’m continuing my hunt on this p0300 2016 rogue. 2 fuel injectors changed, one exhaust solenoid changed by dealer. Battery, spark plugs, coil packs changed by me. Still there. Did bt550 block test no head gasket leak. Appreciate any inputs in fixing it.
@PhillipBailey2 жыл бұрын
Under what conditions does it misfire? P0330 is random miss but what do the misfire counters show over the last 10 drive cycles in mode 6 data? If it is truly misfiring on all cylinders review the freeze frame data and note what short term and long term fuel trim are doing at the time the code sets. Do you actually feel it misfire?
@rajshanmugm2 жыл бұрын
@@PhillipBailey it was random earlier but now it’s always on. I feel misfire when I start the car. It shudders for a couple of seconds before it stabilizes. I have FIXD scanner will try to get the data. But do you suggest something else? I have not seen anything pointing to specific cylinder or mode 6
@PhillipBailey2 жыл бұрын
@@rajshanmugm if that scanner does not support misfire data in the manufacturer data try generic OBD2 and you will see mode 6 data. You may have a leaking injector if it misfires right after startup. Is that a GDI engine?

@@PhillipBailey hey I got this blue driver scanner and it has mode 6 support. I bought new battery so last 10 cycle data is not there. But current cycle shows about 45 misfire in cylinder 1 and 3. I’m having the same issue with cylinder four misfire same year make and model but when I disconnect the purge valve and hook the two lines together the misfire goes away
@PhillipBailey3 жыл бұрын
Are you having the same codes? Especially the P0011 code? Disconnecting the purge solenoid and then connecting the two hoses together will cause the canister to be purged thus enriching the fuel delivery. This may mask a lean problem which could be caused by an induction leak or incorrect cam timing. Try just pinching off the purge hose. It should not be purging at idle. Start by accessing codes.
@hunterm.1723 жыл бұрын
@@PhillipBailey I just have P0300 (multiple misfires detected) and P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) I’ve changed all the spark plugs all the coil packs, made sure that that cylinder and spark plug is actually firing-it’s getting fuel-the check engine light is flashing stating there’s un burnt fuel in the system-running extremely rich-no other codes and I’m pretty much lost- The only thing that makes it run better is by disconnecting both hoses from the purge valve and letting the vacuum complete a full circuit by holding them together- car was running perfectly fine on the highway then all of a sudden misfires started happening and hasnt went away since then
@hunterm.1723 жыл бұрын
Ive even swapped the new coil with the one next to it to rule out a bad coil-the misfire stays on cylinder 4-valve issue maybe? I was thinking injectors but that wouldn’t really make sense to me because if there’s fuel getting in there it’s just not burning I don’t really understand that maybe exhaust valve is stuck open and dumping that fuel down before it gets burnt?
@PhillipBailey3 жыл бұрын
@@hunterm.172 then I would check for a vacuum leak. Especially around number 4 intake port. You short and long term fuel trims will be positive if its running lean and negative if it's running rich. Check around the number 4 intake port for a vacuum leak. If you have a propane torch. Direct some propane gas into the area around number 4 port at an idle. If it smoothes out and runs better you have found the vacuum leak.
@PhillipBailey3 жыл бұрын
@@hunterm.172 an injector that is partially restricted can cause a misfire as can a mechanical problem in the engine like a burnt valve and broken piston rings. Introducing extra fuel by connecting the purge hoses together and having it run better suggests it's a fuelling issue. You could have a plugged injector I suppose.

I removed and repositioned the upper mount to allow the use of a long pick to release the electrical connectors from the top. Using a long 20 inch 1/4" drive extension and 10mm flex socket remove the retaing bolt from the bottom. I then used a long pair of needle nose pliers to twist and pull the solenoid out. Good luck.
