I'm just the average guy who likes to work on my own cars where I can. No better chosen words.

HA HA! Thanks! I don't always want to, but if I can do the job and save money doing it, then I'll definitely do it. There are things I choose not to do though. Timing belts on these, I would much rather have someone else do. Too many special cam lock tools and things I don't have, too much time spend bending over in tight spaces, etc.

Could you show us replace the timing belt 2015 volvo S60??!!
@MIFixItDad3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I have no need to replace the timing belt on my 2015. I only have 50,000 miles on it and I believe the factory recommended change interval for the timing belt on the 4 cylinder is something like 150,000 miles. Maybe in a few year.

Caliper bracket bolts are single use? At least recommended.
@MIFixItDad3 жыл бұрын
Not that I'm aware of. They aren't under huge torque or stress so there is no need to replace them.

@@MIFixItDad Hmm, apparently there a two types of bolts. OEM Volvo single use sretch bolts and other normal bolts. Well, 4 bolts cost 8-9 euros from dealer so decited to byu new ones.
@MIFixItDad3 жыл бұрын
@@EiraAimo There are more than 2 but let's just keep it simple. Stretch bolts are usually used in high torque applications where the specific torque really matters. Head bolts are a prime example and in modern cars don't use a torque setting as much as a starting torque, then you have to tighten each bolt by a certain degree of rotation in a specific sequence. The bolts that connect the subframe to the chassis are also stretch bolts sometimes. If replacing the ones for your application make you feel better, then it's worth it, especially when the cost is relatively inexpensive. Sometimes peace of mind is really worth that extra little amount.

Use the plastic tweezers to take the bolts off they should be in the boot as standard .

Mine was 300mm if I remember right, but always measure yours to make sure you get the ones that are correct for you.

WHAT SIZE ROTOR ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, YOURS, MOST COMMON? AND WHAT IS LESS COMMON?....KINDA ANNOYING WHEN SOMETHING IS MENTIONED BUT NOT CLARIFIED.
@MIFixItDad3 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you're talking about. Can you give me a time stamp or range so I can look? Rotor sizes can vary by vehicle, and even the same vehicle can have different models that have different size rotors. I use what is specific for my car and most of the time don't mention part size or part number so people don't automatically assume that applies to their car too. The best approach is to always research your own vehicle to find out what is specific to your vehicle, not mine.
